  1. Thanks! The XC was way too tall for me, even on the lowest seat setting. More expensive too. I'll just have to continue navigating around the road craters. D'oh! :-(
  2. Hey Panzer, cracking intro! Welcome to the nut house! Regarding the tyres - recommend you stick Michelin Pilot Sporty's on it - make a huge difference and come well recommended amongst the YBR clan. I just had a rear one on my non-custom and never lost faith in it through winter. Would have got one for the front, but I've (just today) sold the bike.
  3. No it's alright matey, I just wanted to clarify Ryan's point that's all.
  4. Could be wrong Grouch, but isn't the stator (as Ryan said, not starter motor as your saying) the first part you took off your bike (on the wrong side)? Think it's in one of your photos, it has all the coils. In your first post you said you heard a rattling sound coming from your clutch, yet you went to the wrong side of your bike. As a result, I believe Ryan is asking you whether you took that side off because that's where you heard the noise?
  5. Love it. Great one Ian!
  6. Ahh you're lucky then - mine would have been away for 2 weeks tomorrow. They do say it can take that long to return them. Just typical!
  7. Ahh that might explain it then! I'm only on a YBR125. Guess the summer riders think I'm not worthy enough. Saw that happen in Matlock Bath - a lad pulled up on a CG125 (no L plates) and went to talk with a fellow biker who took one look at his bike and sort of sarcastically smiled and shunned him. Seemed a shame.
  8. I have noticed exactly the same as you. Rode through winter and pretty much everyone nodded. Great feeling. Not enjoying the nice weather purely because it feels like its filled with rude bikers. A minority of them now nod, even though I do. I've not ridden through a summer before - is this the norm?
  9. It's typical isn't it - the non-urgent things I've done with the DVLA have been turned around really quickly (licence renewal, name and address change over the years). I think it's because I actually need my licence back that its dragging! All in my head I'm sure... I did share all my certificates and other ID (passport etc) with the garage and they took copies. I'm hoping it'll suffice, but he did ask me to bring my full licence when it was returned. You never know, their Sales Manager might be happy with the documentation they already have. I just need to sit tight for a call to say the bike is ready!
  10. So my bike is now at the garage! They just need to prep it and load it up with the free accessories. The annoying thing is my driving licence is still with the DVLA after passing my test. I sent it off straight away to get my 'A' category added. The garage need a copy of this - really frustrating knowing that the bike will be ready later this week and I may not be able to pick it up!! Still, nothing stopping me from trekking over to Chesterfield for a sneaky peek at it...!
  11. I've always wanted a Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird. Not really sure why but they always used to grab my attention when I was younger. When I see one out and about now, I still find myself oggling it. Very odd... But hey - don't need to win the lottery for one of those.
  12. Hey Jason, welcome to the forum! As Tommy said, start up a project thread in the appropriate section, and share pictures! We love piccies here.
  13. Hey Mick - welcome to the forum!
  14. Hey Lew - welcome to the forum!
  15. Good on you Alex - I'm sure you'll love it! Good luck with your test, just keep calm and you'll be fine. Hope the sale of the XT goes well too.
  16. Welcome to the forum Neil! Great intro - the the draggie's are lovely bikes, great choice!
  17. Welcome to the forum Sean! As Tommy has said, start up a project thread!
  18. Congratulations mate! Best feeling in the world isn't it! :-)

Tommy XS's username is actually very deceptive because his name is Barry and he rides a Honda Camino. Life is full of confusion.

One of the only games I was any good at on my brothers Sinclair was Pippo. Some kind of hippo / space hopper you controlled and used to change colours of the floor tiles while avoiding gaps and evil characters. The more difficult levels had tiles which went through multiple colours. Clearly I was too young / stupid to remember the actual name and used to call it Bippo. I can assure you all that its not because I resemble the character, honest...
  21. Thanks all! Had a great day, but more importantly I'm loving this daily stream of birthday well wishes from you lot!
  22. I'd be really interested in this, would be a great laugh. That's as long as you don't mind a Tiger in the herd... I could always put mock Yammy stickers on it!!
