Didn't realise you were going Finnerz. Should have given me a shout en route. I'm currently enjoying a courtesy STR complete with quickshifter whilst mine is in for a service. Great fun. Believe they are camping up the top where we were for the 2 stroke meet.

Yeah I didn't think it was bad either, especially seeing as it got me through winter with around 10k on it at that point. People say the stock rubber is more of a summer track-day set, so I must be an incredibly dull rider to not have encountered issues...! Enjoy yourselves this weekend. Summer bugs... The feckers get everywhere... I cleaned my bike last night at 10.30pm - nice and dark, but cool ha ha! Google Tony Archer in Huddersfield. Never used myself but heard good things about the quality of his work. Sure some of the guys on here have used him in the past for seat.

Would be good if you had a way of trying a seat out before you stump up that kind of dosh! Silkk also raises a good point, I've heard of some folks putting padded cycling shorts on under their gear for more comfort. I plan on doing a SaddleSore 2000 this year so think I may go down that route... Cheap. Anyway, glad you're gettin out and enjoying the bike. Mine has been neglected but am hoping I'll be able to get out at the weekend. I may try to swing by Squires to say howdy to Blackhat and Airhead etc. If you're about we could convoy - would be good to meet.

A different seat will certainly help you. Not long after I got my ST I changed the seat for one with 20mm more padding. Funnily enough, today I've been given a courtesy STR - my first jaunt on one with the stock seat since I got mine last year. Ouch...! So well worth the money if you put in the miles. When I did my Iron Butt, I got to around the 700 mile mark before things really started to hurt... So overall I'm happy with the investment. Aside from that - did you enjoy taking the bike on a long run?

Blimey! Mind you - you've certainly waited for some fantastic weather...! I seem to be the opposite to most bikers this year - road through winter but have barely looked at it during Spring / Summer... Yes, you'll definitely see me at some point this year. I'm dropping my bike off for new shoes tomorrow morning - 12,000 miles and the original rear is looking a little past it now. Believe they'll be giving me a Bonneville to play around with which should be fun. Just a shame I'm working...! Mind you, the garage I go to is in Chesterfield, so it's a good hours ride back over the Peak which is far more interesting than taking it to the Triumph garage in Manchester...

I can't comment on the electrics etc - but the units looks to be different shapes, meaning you might have to stump up for a different surround / fairing also.

I took my DAS on a Kawak ER-6n. That had a digital rev, pretty much the same as your second picture. Really didn't like it. There's nothing like watching the needle fly up and down (in your peripheral of course...). Personally I'd stick with what you currently have as I can't really see much gain to be had.

I wear earplug so don't really think about it. My dog can hear a Triumph a mile off, always thinking its me even if I'm in the same room as him... Idiot! Hmm... Was this post too long?! ;-)

Thanks Noise - yep, turned 30 last weekend. Said goodbye to my 20's in style! Kate - I remember a couple of other points... - Stock rubber (Pirelli Scorpions) are ok, but I changed them for PR4's, and wow - what a transformation! Smoother on the road and much easier to tip in to bends. - Pillion foot legs are part of the frame, resulting in some Tigers getting written off even in simple drops. I did drop mine once but luckily it was in an incredibly wet field, in December so zero damage (other than my pride). - Something that's fixed in the latest model, but for some reason the chain guard is an inch too short meaning you can fling lube all over your luggage and pillion. I did ditch it for a longer version actually. If you're looking for a 2014 model, just keep an eye out for signs of bubbling paint on the engine. Noticed that some would be affected by this but am not sure if it's a quality issue, or how they treat the bike. That said though, warranty claims from Triumph are usually pretty good and I've seen reports of people getting stuff like that sorted with zero to minimal hassle.
