Starting up motocross next year, im going to be 15 years old! So ill be old enough to enter a 250cc class I've never rode motocross, but I've got quite a good feel for bikes as ive riden for 9 years through woods, fields and trials, I currentley have a dt 125, as people have told me i should get a 250cc to start on with motocross because ive already got a 125 (I know there's a big difference between a dt and a yz) Im fairly tall like 5 foot 10, im 11 stone, so would a 250 be a good bike to start on? Or a 125? Im sensible on bikes im not crazy! Your opinion on what cc I've i should get?

My bike has the 3 sprockets up front and 9 on back, but in the 3rd sprocket at front (the biggest one) all gears work fine, but in the second sprocket (the middle one) the gears slip on the back as you can feel it when peddling, like one time it's easier then the chain will slip into the gear above back into the low gear. My sprockets won't be work if it works in other gears?

Is anyone familiar with problems with a slipping chain on my push bike? Thanks

Well my situation is the throttle isn't moving at all, I took the throttle (on the handlebar) off and tug the throttle cable lightly and no movement, see i think the cable is stuck some where around the forks, as it was fine before the forks were serviced but after that's when it wasn't moving. Could the throttle cable get jammed in the forks?

The bike didnt idle when the throttle was in perfect working order. Im going to my mechanic to see if he can fix the jamming of the cable, one question, if the throttle cable had completely snapped, would ou be able to pull the cable out from the handle bar?

Aha it could be the idle screw! Never thought of that, ill get my mechanic to have a look and see if that sorts it! Thanks Airhead and ahaywood93!

Sorry about the lack of information, it's a 2002 with a FULL DEP system, I clean the air filter, change the oil and check the spark plug on a regular basis. The bike will idle for around 30 seconds when started with choke, then it will hit 1000 revs and bog out, after that it might take a few kicks to get it started again with choke on. I haven't checked the jets or the carb YET, but I will sometime soon, at the moment I've got a problem with my throttle cable! it's jammed but no big deal. Got any other ideas? I'll strip the bike, anything else I should check? A big thanks to you!

This bike also has regular oil changes and spark is checked after a day of riding! (Spark plug is still very clean)

To let you guys know, my DT's foks are now getting serviced, new oil, new seals, new gaiters the lot! Thanks guys!

My dt 125r does not idle, even when hot! The bike bogs when still cold or hot, I could ride or half hour and stop and the bike will just cut out, I have to keep the revs high to keep the bike going! It's really frustrating! Help? Thanks

I don't have an original manual, I've got a 2002 Dt 125 R, any ideas? Can forks be serviced while they are still on the bike? I won't be doing the service as I do not have a clue! I only know how to ride them!

Unfortunately I've never known my forks to be serviced, but I will get them done as Its all free for me, so can you get special oil for forks? It's a shame because my bikes going to be out of action and my 6 weeks summer holiday is coming up! So no riding for me!

So, my one if my forks (left to be precise) started leaking quite abit if black oil, it started running down the fork and got my fork cover soaked, I've litterly just cut the cover off and all this black jelly stuff was under the cover, I didn't look nice! Anyone know what this black jelly stuff is? Also my fork seal hasn't popped out so why is my fork leaking oil where the fork seal is?

So my mates getting a stomp 125 pitbike and he wants to know how long it takes to run in his engine? Do you even need to run it in? Thanks

I'm going to check spark plug again, see if it sparks, I recently changed the plug. Also my Dt does not idle? I have to keep the revs up or it will cut out? Do you know anything about that?

I only want it as my DT takes ages to start when cold, I don't know why? What are the main things that would stop a 2 stroke from starting in the first 5 kicks?
