Where to get 1986 DT50 Big bore kit in North America
thanks drewpy Don't see anything on their site. A place in the US called Treatland has one for a decent price for a 70 cc kit. I will probably go that route. much appreciated jason

dt50 engine swap
Hi Everyone. I have a 1986 dt50 (which I was told when i bought it was a 125). It was missing the top end so i wne ton the search for a top end (i can get a 70cc or a larger engine. I have found an early 80's dt125 engine aircooled like mine and looks similar. Does anyone know if this will drop straight into my frame. Anything I should have in mid as I attempt this. thanks alot for the feedback and help on this one. Jason

Hey guys and Gals Noob here
Hey Everyone. Well after looking for a long time for a very cheap dual sport bike project i got one. What I thought (or was told) was a 1983 DT125 turned out to be a 1986 DT50. It is missing the top end so still trying to figure out what to do with it, 70cc big bore kit, different engine, or part it out and get something else. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and there is quite a population of riders here so really looking forward to getting involved. This will be my first dirt/dual bike. I have previously had a 1984 Honda Interceptor 750 and a 1980 Yamaha XS1100 road bike. My other toy is a 78 VW westy Camper which ironically carries a bike quite nicely if you take the bench seat out. Looking forward to talking to you all. Anyone have any advice as to what engine would fit in my bike, hopefully in the 100-125 range. I am 6'1 and 215 pounds so don't think the 50cc would cut it. Thanks and happy riding

Where to get 1986 DT50 Big bore kit in North America
Hey everyone. It turns out the DT125 I bought is actually a DT50. I am hoping to get at least a 60cc big bore kit as have noit didn't come with a top end right now. I can only find them in the uk or europe and cannot find anyone willing to ship one to me in Canada. Does anyone know where I can get a big bore kit for my 86 DT50 in North America. It has to have the threaded exhaust attachment on the front of the engine to fit the pipe i have (factory, but mint shape). I figure since i have to buy a cylinder and head anyway might as well add a little juice to the old girl any help would be really appreciated. thanks jason

trying to identify my bike
hey everyone, Got a bike today and was told it is a 1983 dt125. it doesn't really look like and 83 the headlight is round but the speedometer is not. It says Dt on the tank. The serial number on both the frame and the engine is 1JY-006116. Can anybody steer me in the right direction.
