  1. 100% correct ken either waste gas letting it warm up fully or change it out fot a lower # oil ie if your runin 80-90 try 75-90
  2. Ireely didn't think you were going to rush in and buy the first bike to come your way, more the point was,,,, dont they have dealer ride outs there, where you get to ride all the new bikes? Here ever year you can go and ride every new bike from 125 to 1800,, and bikes I thought I would like after riding them I hated them, IE ,V storm 1000 looked cool but what a piece of crap it turned out to be .way to much torque and shit for top end. And vice vs I realy didn't think I would like the Vt 1800 honda being as its 7 feet long and weighs in at a ton and a half but it actualy suprised me as easy to ride.
  3. They are cool and been used for the last 8 or so years on lots of cars here as a ign lock,, so even if you have the orignal key the car wont start. Untill you pass the transponder pass the reciver hidden wherever you choose. i never thought about using it as a key less ign ,,that might be the "key" for my wr as it dosen't have one now as I transform it back to SM
  4. Hey Nev your were looking at the pipes on the TDR 250 and thinking about putting them on this project and from what i hear you can't realy get them. Check out U tube about hydro forming pipes I have been looking at some of the vids and it's looking not so hard, got a little rm 80 that the pipe is rotten and I can measure it up for the template if I find time to do it I will post it up. PS been watching and you do nice clean work
  5. +1 on the fact that a moto is the best muter, don't get me wrong i love my 1200 but when your running stop and go it's a waste of bike .It will do 60 mph in first gear and it's not light for quick lane changes.I am used to it and can throw it around, but if were to jump off a 125 and get on it ,it would feel a ton.. As for buying whats available when you want it ,,thats the wrong way to buy a bike, there are billoins of bikes to buy. I have never bought any bike car truck without test driving it first ( unless it was a basket case project) once you have your full licence and cash in hand then go and ride the bikes you think you want untill you find the one you realy like.
  6. Yea there are 3 drain plugs first you drain the down tube, then the drain by the filter, then the lower case. If your trying to get the extra oil out just loosen drain on the down tube and slowly fill it back up till it touches to bottom of the dip stick, then start the bike for 30 sec's then slowly add untill half up the dip stick, start again and let it sit for 10 min then top up.

    YBR grips

Yep hook them up with a dead man switch, like a jet ski then you cant get more than a few feet away
  8. Pull the spark plugs and see if you have spark.
  9. OK what about 4 carbs ie 1200 fj carbs longer intakes????????????????????????????????////// think about it ?
  10. Does the swing arm piviot bolt run through the motor ?
  11. Hi Dave welcome..Go and try on everything sizes are different by brand slightly and if your going the whole package, boots glovesjacket ect.. don't settle for the tag price barter for the best discount 15-20% or more the mark up on the gear is 100-300% in most shops. So they can come down alot in price. As most will tell you expencive is not always the best realy look at the stiching some of the stuff gets pumped out of littel sweat shop from all around the world and is not that great. So if the first pair of say gloves dosent fit perfect try on another.
  12. Hey Dave I would just sell it if she can fit on a yz 125 the ttr is a great starter bike but thats about it.The yz will last for years without her getting board with the power.
  13. If it's a full manual choke forget it,we must have got the delux models.

    travel plans

Where ever you go don't go to Remuchf"ed or Ever mix pussy willows with cumquads in your garden unless your in for 20+ years of maitence.
  15. LMFAO have kids and see what your left with.
  16. Clean the air filter and check the vac to the heat rise on the manifold heat riser choke. make sure the choke is pulling off as the temp rises. make sure all the linkage is well lubed and free to the choke.
  17. LPG?GAS?RACE FUEL? My bud has been playing round with all the fuels for years now in his race car 1/4 mile. And the only thing he has proven is that it costs way more to f with what already works. The car ran 10.40's on every fuel the only differencs was the cost of the fuel. Add in all the costs of adding LPG to his car and the extra wear and tear on the vavle train ( because of the lack of lube in LPG ) and it saved about 0.
  18. Your motor mount's with brackets right? Not fixed between the rear arm?

    Fz600 Gulf

I like it /hate it the orange on the front of the faring is wrong, needs more blending into the broken stripe. as the signals can be blended in with the gulf sticker try moving it over top with flush mount sig's. But what ever just my 2 cents .I love that bike one of the one's I wish I never sold
  20. Yep it's a genaric faring friend had the same one on a gs400 ,,,the new shiled will cost almost as much as a whole new faring. Edit : thats a prety nice looking bike almost a shame to part it
  21. Not sure about the ? is it stock, but making a new screen is pretty easy just warm up a piece of lexan in the oven and lay it over the old one it will form to it and then just cut an drill to fit.
  22. Havin ridden a rz500 ,rg 500 ,gsxr 1000 busa 1300 bking1300 zx 1400 a cr500 and a kx 500+ many other very fast bikes,, the cr and kx were the most scary bikes I have ever ridden. In dirt trim you litterly cant launch the bikes in 1 st gear and 2nd gear launches results in tons of wheel spin (enough to dig your own grave) followed by the front wheel never touching the ground untill 5th.The slightest throttle input results in things happening very fast in any gear.Even on ice studded tires the power is so hard to control,If you ever get a chance to ride one of them go for it just make sure you have lots of room and you med insurance is up todate. That bm450 is a nice looking bike and I have no idea as to how "road tuned " they are I'v never seen one in person. The 8lt tank would put me off ,,my wr250 has the large tank 12lt and it empty's quite fast. I would think that the 450 with a 8lt tank would have a fairly short rang between fill ups.Probably something like 1/3rd of the range of your 125. Just for giglels what about stuffing a yz 250 in your 125 that would be cool ,weight wise you wouldn't need any major suspension work if any ,the brakes could handel it.With that small rear sprocket it would be fairly road tuned and fast.
  23. Even if you can't zero the multimeter your working with you can subtract the value of the leads from the final reading,my dvom self zeros ,but my last set of leads read 35 ohms resistance before I replaced them.Mind I use my meter everyday alot. I have seen alot of good parts changed because of faulty readings, people not accounting for temp varraition. most readings should be performed at 20c and a varriance of 10 % is normal between 2 identical parts. So 660 is not that far from 700 ..40ohms -10 ohms for leads and your at 670 temp vary and that could easly be another 10 ohms 680 add the 10% and your at 700 give or take. I would be inclined to teast it at the farthest point IE the voltage reg, computer, coil and see if the wireing is to be at fault.Aswell I would check the coil. Most stator problems cause hard starting problems long before they start giving high rmp problems, just by the nature of the beast the faster it spins the more out put it has.So generaly speaking if it's a low rpm problem stator,,high rpm problem bad ign coil. Iam not saying the stator is goodjust that I would inspect everything else firstHT cap Ign coil and related wireing befor condeming a stator that is very close to the book value.
