  1. Check if the Netural switch wire has come off Blue wire. that will stop it from running if its grounded
  2. Ya I was wrong about you old motor ever being appart and bet they honed it when they "fixed" the head bolt, hopefully you find one with better /tighter end gap. The other thing to look at is the "new stuff" most likely wont have any warp so a matching head and block to go on your good bottom end will save you from having to re surface the old stuff. Find a piece of glass big enough to tape sand paper to and give the head and block a light even sanding in a figure 8 pattern,a poor mans re surface so to speak. This will give the new head gasket something to bite to. 400 grit is fine
  3. Hi Lee welcome on board,32 and 4 kids wow and you still have any cash for bikes? do you have em working out back in your sweat shop? HAHA joking
  4. Sorry Noise I only work for beer and burgers,so factoring the amount of time involved that would work out to a 1/20th of top bun and a cap full of beer or a sniff of your JD. the good stuff red label.LOL Glad you got it sorted.Keep at it .
  5. Yep Nick you need to change the flasher relay with one for leds.Something like thishttp://www.customled.com/products/flasher_relay/flasher_relay.htm
  6. Any port in a storm but thats a nice deal free heated space+ no distractions= faster build. I am running outa popcorn and down to my last 5 cases of beer so quit dilly daddeling. We want Pictuers!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to see the "hut" when I was in scouts we only had the basement of the local church to use and I dont think they knew what heat was,, other than the little electric fire log we sat around. In frekin shorts and t shirts in the midst of winter, never figured that one out scouts motto "always be prepaired" guess that didnt include long pants and swetters.Pocket knife, needle and thread BS knitting neddels and yarn would have been a better idea I hope the boy is involved in this part of the finnal build,, would say we want picts of his dirty hands but everything is so clean you'd have to send him out to dig in the dirt.Or is this the BD present that he dosen't know about.?

    Frame paint ??

The only way to get paint to cure properly and be as hard as factory is to bake it in a paint booth, as this bike is a keeper the cost of a pro paint job and powder coating run about the same and powder coating is way better I'd choke the cost and powder coat it once.Striping a bike to re do the frame is a PITA. Tremclad and hammerite are closer to the same POR is more of a industrial finnish and fades out in a year You can buy another bike give it a cheap paint job and flip it to cover the costs incured in this build.
  8. All in all for a bike of that age looks decent and well taken care of enjoy.

    Few upgrades

Just read a artical about the mito, sharp looking little bike, but the wright up wasn't very impressive. It dosen't seem like a very good road bike as no power below 9000rpm.After reading it would seem your wr125 would be the better bike to do your test on. Here the linkhttp://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/cagiva/cagiva_125%20mito%2000.htm
  10. I'v not known many wives who will wash barrels Cases came out nice
  11. Be dumb to not put the valve seals on,and to do that you have to pull it apart anyway. So why not lap the valves at the same time, the better the valves seal then better the compression. You should have all the cylinders measured,or check end gap and go with the smallest bore/gap and use the pistons from that motor Any idea as to what year that motor is? Check the cams to see if they are different. It just the exhaust thats different right DREW?
  12. I think Blackhat tinks your getting it posted to you? NICE SCORE. One of them motors has to be good, for at least a back up.
  13. Just drop the oil and giver then 400 miles at 2000 rpm the OPS has to be broken in by now, have it done at the yam dealer if you like realy matters not,,, but then if it blows up your covered for sure. Honestly though a motor will normaly run for 100 kms or less and die if not assembled corectly,if it make 100 kms then thrash the piss out of it before warenty runs out. Resale wont matter a dam bit. to anyone who knows bikes, just cause the name on the service bill say's yam dont mean crap to me. The things I have seen in dealerships would scar you for life from ever wanting a new anything.
  14. Old or young as long as you got a smile at the end of the day..welcome on board
  15. 30+ years from high school for me from auto 101 shame they dont teach these simple things anymore or make manditory surely would save people tons of cash over thier life!..............,but hey!! NMP... check the charge of the battery after it sits for a hour or so if below 12.9 and you hit the start button and drops to not then it's done.
  16. Anti frezze is a nessary here drew its raining and the ice wont melt outa the lane ,,it's been over +4 for 20 hrs and you can still lace up your skates and go out for a skate if you like the ground is frozen soild most likely till march 30th
  17. Fliuds of the batery and yes a battery can work as long as the bike is running but not hold a charge once the alt stop running. And discharge to the piont it takes all the power from kicking the bike over. Just wondering dont they go ove any of this stuff in high school auto 101 anymore or just want everyone to ride the bus?

    Few upgrades

Dont know the laws ther but here without a Left mirro your gettin a fine, and realy I hate mirrors they just take away form the over all look of the bike but they do help keep your eyes foward sometime its the split seconds you need to avoid a accident. The big L on the front looks worse, book your test and get it done now
  19. whimpy shit on a boat that is watch this 1000hp + boatshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HPxJNaLCvM
  20. Remove battery charge and test, check levels of fluid top with distilled water if needed. If posible check voltage to battery with bike running.

    Few upgrades

What no mirrors? Like them grips, overall looks good and some functunal bling time and money well spent.
  22. Check the ground off the tail light, and hook a multy meter up to check the voltage at the tail light before buying a a new reg/rec.
  23. Funny Shaun I have the urge to hack the crap out of a bike now.
  24. If your front end wobbles when you take your hands off, your steering head bearings need service and adjustment. as for tires a 1308018 is as big as you want to go a140 will fit like crap on the rim with no benifet. I liked metzlers on mine, ran them on my rz as well. The tail end i am of 2 minds,In the first pict I like it,looks modernish. In the second pict it look's un finished kinda like someone crashed and stuck the solo cover on. Your not going to put the stock stuff back on so with some planning the side pannels could be trimed to fill in the area, the gsxr cover sectioned to fit the width of the seat and blend with the side pannels The bracket you had made has a 90 just above the mounting bolt that if the cover comes off in a crash is going in your ass file it out to a raidus.
