  1. ok I'll try one more time pull spark plugs drain oil try to turn motor over with starter, this way the motor has no compression and the oil cant hydro lock it if it turns over then the starter is not ducked if it still dosent turn over then the starter and or starter clutch is broken and you need to fix it . But as your having trouble following simple instructions then mabey better to leave it to a professional.
  2. Glad it's your arse and back LOL I'd make it around the block 2x and my back would be screaming "get off" and my skinny little butt would be sore.
  3. Just drop the oil but it does sound like you striped the teeth off,it wont hurt to turn the motor over with no oil just dont start it pull the spark plugs out as I said.
  4. Oh also check the oil level and drain if nessary
  5. Try pulling the spark plugs out ground them on the cylinder and see what it does.If it's just hydro locked it will turn over

Well I for one dont care what it looks like now,I know you will make it sweet in time. I want to hear what you think of the extra 10 hp,so heres hoping you get the carbs and elcs sorted soon so you can report back.
  7. Hi and welcome to the club Jake Water colud have come from sitting on it's side, but worse is if the coolant system was left to freeze could have cracked the head/block. this you wont know untill you actualy get it running or pull it appart. But as it dose run and your not investing alot in it I would clean the carb up so it can run on it's own fill the rad and see what happens.Don't forget to mix some oil in the gas the auto lube system might not be working and you dont want to seize it for lack of lube Oh a 30:1 mix will be fine so your chain saw gas will be fine As for being able to kick it over by hand,,, well being a farmer I bet your pretty strong so dosen't mean much on a 125 with 8:1 compression, and it only makes about 14 hp. Pop a compression tester in and see what you have they will run with 60-70 no problem. A quick break down on cost of parts all approximate. new tires 70-100 each used from a local racer 40 a pair or free inner tubes 10 each new pistion 80-100 ( rings and wrist pin included wiseco). Bearing 15 gasket base 6-10 head 20-30 Crank seals 20 chain sprockets 100 wheel bearings 20-30,the numbers on the bearing tell you what they are and a bearing supplier will be cheaper than a bike shop. Ufo fender 20 but might not find a dt one and have to mod a yz fender. Seat that will be a chalenge a trip to a bike wrecker might turn up something useable,or ebay UK a lot more parts for the dt's there than this side. There are alot of dt 125's there and a few members are realy into them so they could probably help if you want the stock seat. The vin post it here and someone will crack it or call your local Yam dealer they can too,but it should be the 10'th. If you just want to fix it to run around the farm and not ride it on the street then you should be able to put it together for less than 6-700. The pipe would have had a build up of old oil and could have filled up with rain and filled the motor, but then the condition of crank bearings comes to question. You didnt mention where in the USA you are some states are better and easier to get parts. The amount you spend will be equal to how much you want to get it back to stock and how many parts you change.
  8. Cool little toy cop car, with the scale road and shrub's it looked almost real great video Don't get me wrong the bike does look cool, just not finnished to me,but my rz was never quite right either and I re did that bike 4x Well enough sitting on my ass this jeep aint going to fix it's self another day and she should be done, just waiting for new door seals. Why does everything from the states take forever if it werent for the fact that they are 1/3 the price I would have got them here.
  9. Welocme back I guess ,in 1973 did you guys use smoke signals cause I don't remember the web back then LOL. Any resto I am always intrested to see so why not post up some pict's in projects so we can follow along.
  10. Only 1 small problem with the new lights you cant see the dunlop stickers now. Personaly I dont like em but I dont like any of the bikes that light up like a disco, but having all black bike might help the smidsy notice you at night. The tail looks good but unfinnished, still think you need to do something to cover up the electrics and blend the seat in,I had a thought your living in a new sub and they are probably still building near you why not ask one of the siding guys for some aluminum. That stuff is easy to bend/cut.Or relocate the elecs under the tail and extend the seat down to the frame and recover it,Iknow that lots of new bikes have exposed frame rails but everything fits tight and you have gaps that leave it unfinnished looking, not bad but still could be better. One question do you have enough chain to put the bigger front sprocket on?
  11. What??? 4 and 5 are absent without leave but on the basis that all was working OK and there's no debris that looks like them in the bottom of the clutch housing, I guess they're not essential. Yamaha dose not put parts in that are not essential,,, either get all the parts and fix it right or buy super glue and glue all your tools to the tools box save for the hammer they arent essential either. I cant help with where to find the parts but if your not going to fix it right then just throw the kick start away plug the hole and bump start it,the kicker broke because some baffoon put it together wrong in the first place
  12. Well you have wheels now to go find that dirt cheap mangled v max to start the next build But you will want to pick up one of these first http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/Metal-Bending/12-Ton-Pipe-Bender/8068017.p Or you could try your hand at picking up a few non runners/neglected and flip them to pay for the next build, that will keep you swearing.HAHAH. Well now she's all done keep her well maintained and looking foward to some pict's
  13. Oh haveing the pipe so close to the box does make sence... keeps things warm..cold box is no good
  14. She could write adds for bike sales and make a fortune, every add would get so many hits they would sell in hours,it at 69 views per hour and rising . Great find old timer made me laugh hard. had to read it 2x
  15. Welcome,I too have that same ich to buy another 350.Start a thread in projects
  16. Only one type of box goes on my bike and I havent seen a picture of one here yet! them is all ugly !But feel free to post pictuers of nicer ones.
  17. Take disc to big building with books (libary) ask to use a computer install disc and hit print, collect pages from nice lady. LOL it works for me,as I have no luck with printers they seem to last right up untill I need something important printed.
  18. Matt the thing is the ruels are totaly different here, thoes bikes would not probably pass a test your side. And most of them never get ridden.Just trailer queens. Here you regster a bike in your name fit and then ride it the rest of your life, no annal yearly inspection. I like the look and easy of build, but look at what Noise did with his bike it's kinda along the idea your shooting for and rideable. Take a whatever bike like that and go nuts, then you have a regestry # and all the stuff the gov will hassel you about
  19. Well looks much better, but why do you call it a washing line when you dry stuff on it not wash stuff LOL
  20. Just look at all the custom builds out there for sale| spent XXX selling for half of investment,if you decide to do it dont ever expect to get any money back, but it fun and a great way to learn more, might even hurt your brain a times. If you have the space cash, tools and time to build a jig to set it up all on then go for it,but as said by cynic it`s easier to just start with a bike and mod the crap out of it.
  21. Total off topic though. Best to rebuild the crank and not just replace the bearings now you have this mess to deal with
  22. Ya but when trying to get something apart and it under 5 ton of pressure allready it works great
  23. That takes to long LOL freeze the bearings with propane, and quickly press them in the case or oppsit way works a charm
  24. No problem just finnish the thread so the next person who has this problem has a starting point to work from
  25. Ya the fan control temp sensor un plug it then the fan will run constant or need to be jumped not exactly sure with your bike
