  1. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I bought a TZR (my third project) last year and let my son use the engine on his bike till we got his repaired. After about a week or so of using it the gearbox oil was like mayonase. His own engine was then repaired so I stripped down my engine completely cleaned all casings and gears and put it back together with new gaskets. The problem has gone away. I'm hoping its not a cracked casing? Anyone got any bright ideas.
  2. Cheers for that

Hi all in the process of doing up a couple of TZR's and I am struggling to find something that will fit the top of the forks as a dust cap. Just wondering if anyone knew of another bike's dust caps that would fit?

£30 don't want to get the wrong ones
  5. I see in the 'Workshop section' you are looking to buy a TZR 125. Which model you after?
  6. Don't know how long grouch not getting much time at the mo with work being so busy. Hoping to get most of the work done over Easter weekend.

Could do with knowing as the only rear discs available on flea bay at the mo are 4DL ones, they do look the same.
  8. Here's a few pics of the progress to date, frame and all small bits (foot peg hangers, yokes etc) have been grit blasted and painted by my good self. Wheels have just been grit blasted and will be painted this weekend. Just need to strip the engine down and replace some leaking seals. http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/001_zpsb6ef2718.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/002_zps57bfb544.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/004_zps4d2e4096.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/010_zps3c0e09cd.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/012_zpsb3214432.jpg http://i1052.photobucket.com/albums/s457/The_Flying_Scot/015_zps9dd20dbc.jpg

Quick question that some of you might know the answer to. Will the rear disc of a TZR 125R/4DL fit a 125L need on to finish off my latest project but can only find second hand ones of different bikes. Thanks in advance
  10. Not too bad. You just to wait sometimes for odd parts to come up on flea bay.
  11. Well it has all started this weekend. Frame has been grit blasted and is now away for some minor welding. All foot pegs, clip ons and bits and bobs have been grit blasted and painted this weekend. Starting on the engine next weekend. Will get some photos up soon.

Thought I would bring you up to date with things. My dear wife had been phoning and texting this muppet a dozen times a day over the last couple weeks. She told him that the case was being looked into by the police, 2 days later my parts turned up. Indicators not TZR ones, short little stubby ones. Everything else was okay apart from having to wire new plugs on to the stator( lucky I saved my old one) but its working as far as I know as I haven't got to the point where I can start the bike but it does have a spark. Anyway thanks for your advice.

Just thought i would let you know about an ebay member csco4888 goes by the name of Chris. He had a TZR 125 on e bay breaking for spares. We agreed on £75 + £10 postage for a few bits ignition lock, fuel cap, head light, clutch lever and indicators. I sent him the money through pay pal as a gift( I know this was wrong as you can't dispute a gift). Now after nearly a month and several texts stating that the parcel had been returned I have given up. Just thought I would warn whoever reads this so no one else gets scammed. Share this with whoever.
  14. Hi Adam, the DT was my first and only bike until a few weeks ago. Great bikes and a lot of fun.

There are several companies over here that will either re-line a barrel or re-bore one.

Well getting another step closer to getting it back on the road. Side pannels sprayed, all electrics working. Just got to finish the spraying and fit the decals which should be here this week. At the minute my lad has got the engine for this bike in his TZR. So he will be grounded this weekend as I am claiming it back. If anyone knows someone who has got a good quality barrel for a 2RH engine going spare let me know as I need one for the lads bike.

Don't suppose you would know what the original yammy black colour code was?
  20. The Flying Scot replied to The Flying Scot's post in a topic in Projects
Cheers DirtyDT I have been watching these on eBay but wasn't sure what the quality would be like. Also not sure what colour to go for. The bike was originally black so might return her back to original. Any thoughts.

Yes, rattle can all the way. It was in good shape before I started. Do you know anyone that does good replica decals by any chance?

Well I have finally got round to starting rebuilding my TZR, not bad progress for the first day.
  23. I am in the middle of rebuilding a 1990 TZR, I'm at the stage where I am reinstalling the carburettor. I am a bit unsure where all the hose go. Am I correct in saying that the main fuel line in goes in the connector that sits vertically on the left side of the carb? The oil line goes on the front right brass connector? There are 2 connectors ( one on each side which are horizontal ) are these breather pipes and do the hoses sit vertically downwards? There is another connector on the base to the carb, again another breather vertical downwards? The last connector is just beside where the carb joins the air box it is a white plastic connector that rotates, what does this connect to?
  24. Many many years ago I was the proud owner of a DT125R. Now my son has reached the ripe old age of 17 and has asked for a motor bike to get around. I have purchased a 1990 TZR 125 in need of some TLC so I will be on here alot asking for advice. First question I would ask is am I mad? Second question is do any of you know any good suppliers of quality second hand parts. Thanks in advance Steve
