Hey Silverstreak to the forum, Sounds like you got a lot goin on for a young fella, as you already know your way round a car/truck you must already be pretty handy with a spanner, keep it up, youl be fixing bikes in no time. All the best

to the forum simmons I cant really help with your Q but would suggest starting with a hpi check or similar, or contacting dvla or yamaha to see if you can find out a little more about the bike, All the best mate, Eddie

Very Old thread, Now, 124 mph from a 50??? Has it got an r1 engine in it?? Or is that in kph?? (Still very fast for 50cc's) If not i would seriously look into getting a new speedo,,, clock, cable & drive Or a video of this "50" doing 124 would be nice
  6. love the avatar
  7. :welcome: From another new member, Hi rik, nice intro, very interesting. Good call on keeping the bike original, the way its meant to be (not that theres anything wrong with a custom paintjob/decals etc), just looks the part when you got a nice old bike in original condition, All the best. Eddie
  8. Thanks for that sacha thats exactly what i was after Bookmarked
  9. Haha found it, on mobile site there is a blue square with 4 small white boxes inside at the very top, this is a button.... How did i not see that. Lmao. Another quick question, anyone know the symbols/words for the emoticons im seeing i know the smiley is :+) = , but whats symbols for the welcome & headbang etc? Sorry for being a bit thick but i havent used forums for a few years until recently & i did know all these before. All the best, Eddie
  10. Im using my iphone, pages are a little different and 3g internet isnt very fast takes ages to navigate pages, ill find it, no worries
  11. Is there a photo gallery that members upload pics of their bikes to, or something alike, just curious as to what bikes you guys are riding,
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome. yes i did like my kmx although it had a small powervalve issue with 1st gear, seemed to take a while to hit but when it did it was nice, all other gears were fine just pulloff a little slow, sadly some little buggers thought theyd help themselves and cut through 2 thick chains to get at it, next time i saw the bike it was a wreck in the impound after a copper knocked a lad off it & shattered his ankle(haha served him right theiving scum) but yeah was a nice bike, not quite as fast as my dtr but still nice, All the best. Eddie
  13. Lol, So you have a smoker too then, glad im not alone. thanks again All the best. Eddie
  14. Cheers for that cynic, i have tried riding strait from start up, it just fouls the plug an dies, i found blipping the throttle helps clear it up quicker, it only smokes for around 2-3 mins tops(prob not even that) but it is bad, worse than iv ever seen before, looks like very thick cigarette smoke just before you inhale it, my kmx125 did this too but not as bad(some little buggers nicked it before i had chance to look over it properly). Really, thanks for that input, much appreciated All the best & safe riding Eddie.
  15. Done that, think im getting used to the mobile site now, introduction in new member section,
  16. Hello all, new to the forum, have been a reader for a little while but still new to all this, I have owned a few bikes in the last year or so - Aprillia rs50, derbi senda 50r, kmx 125, and now own a dtr125 (have also owned a few imports but they werent very good ) ,i like my 2strokes And im now very happy with the bike iv got (apart from 1prob im having which i posted in the bar section, would be very grateful for your opinions/advice). Well, thats all i can think of for now... so have a good day all and safe riding :EDIT: - and how could i forget, i have 2 lovely children, a girl (5yrs old) & a boy (8months old), the 2 most important things in my life.
  17. Is there a way to move the thread using an iphone? Or do i just start a new topic in the correct section and copy/paste it there? or should i make a seperate topic in new member section just as an intro and link to it? Sorry, still getting used to using forums:) Thanks for reply,
  18. Hi all, quite new to the forum, although i have spent a lot of time reading various bike related topics on this forum, its my first time creating a thread so if its all wrong apoligies inadvance & would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction (iphone seems alot more fiddly to use than a laptop). Now for the problem im having - I have a '91 dtr 125 that smokes like a trooper when cold, i mean thick smoke, when warm the engine is mint, sounds nice, runs nice, fast and no smoke, just when its cold it smokes bad, id say from stone cold it starts 2/3 kicks with choke and throws out thick smoke for around 3 mins max, when i blip the throttle the smoke gets worse(as throttle opens smoke gets thicker, slightly lessens when closing) and if i rev hard it sounds rough like its choking the engine, but after that 3mins it clears up to nearly no smoke at all and runs real nice, i can leave it for half hour and it will still start first kick with no smoke & without choke, but an hour or longer im back to square 1 smoking the street out. i thought bad crank seals, but i have another dtr engine with rotten seals & a case full of gear oil and that smokes constantly doesnt clear. But what else could it be? The smoke s very thick, plug looks wet/oily but i havent seen it after the engine runs good only while its smoking, would it be wise to get 2 plugs - warm bike up with 1 - when its running nice swap to new plug and check that? I could bet it will be a nice tan after its warm. Or could it be a cruddy pipe?? Or could the seals just be on their way out and swelling when warmed up?? What do you guys think? Your thoughts/opinions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance. Oh and sorry for the long boring post
