  1. try finding some citric acid. mix 4 oz. of acid with water and fill up the tank. this will dissolve the rust and not hurt the steel. a word of caution: if the rust goes through the tank, you will have leaks. wash out tank with water and dry using a hair dryer. good luck.

    I just bought a DT175B (1975) and got it running. The bike does not idle below 3000 rpm and the choke has to be on for it to run. It is also burning a lot of oil. I suspect leaking crankcase seals. Has anyone done this replacement? Could you give me the steps necessary? Also is there a service manual available? Thanks for your help. Oscar
