  1. I tend to agree with the rest. Did the course myself, found the club a bit snooty about guys with battered bikes ( two young kids were draining the budget). Told to do silly wreckless things that actually made me at higher risk, like not giving way to trucks if it was my right of way as a 'dominated' the road (doesn't take Steven Hawkings grip of Physics to work out who wins in a 200 kg v 35000 kg impact). I have also done bike safe and rider down with fire brigade. Really good as these are real professionals and show it in their actions. Wil
  2. I had one these, great bike. There are some earth issues that result in corroded connectors, there is one near the rear mudguard that presents like a broken solenoid when it breaks, as it always gets coved in rubbish this can happen in older bikes, worry he fixing and wrapping. It may be worth having a look if something is causing the drain it may be one of these. Wil
  3. Does anyone know the dates of hastings bike nights this year? They used to be first Thursday of the month, still the same? Thanks Wil

I am looking to hire a bike for the Taffy Dakar rally in May. Are there any good places near Swansea that do hires at a reasonable price. It does not need to be a high end bike. Wil

M&P sell the universal ones that fit any and are much cheaper.

Laguna are very good at recommending people that they use. I have used some in the past and none of them are cowboys. Wil

I have just got a snottagram from Lambeth council that I rode my bike in a bus lane. On the Westminster Bridge road (camera 138 it any have matching ones), wrote back to say that bikes are allowed, they say not this one! The signage is pretty poor, the same sign as all the now legal ones in the rest of London. Not local so would not have known which were except from the scheme. The reply looks like a standard letter so may not have even read my intial appeal. Any suggestions or wisdom to share? Many thanks Billy

Is the male or female part missing? I know that GIVI have a parts dept, bu they can turn the cheap buy into a not so cheap one. Ebay is often a happy hunting ground where people with pre fitted ones want to try and cover some cash. http://www.motorbikesandparts.co.uk/motorcycle-luggage/?manufacturer=33 http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=givi+spares These are quite good also.
  10. Thanks chaps. I had another look on a dealer site and they said H4, it came out originally as just a part number. It is the same size as my old bike, bargain, recycle the spare!!
  11. I am looking to get an uprated bulb for the bike. Before I start taking things apart, does anyone know what type it is is looks like a H7 or a H4 from the back. The handbook does not say! Thanks
  12. Just had a look at the scottoiler site as Kirrie Pette suggested, good effort, found a great diagram so I will not cut anything I should not! Good call! Thanks to everyone. Billy
  13. Thanks for all the advice. I think DT501 has missed the point a bit! I have only put one on a tranditional bike where i can see which lead is which, i was unsure if any are linked to sensors that would pop if i messed about with theme. It is all a bit tight with everything all together, is the tap at the base of the tank, as is traditional, I currently cant even see it! I wanted to know before I start taking too much of the bike apart for nothing.
  14. Am looking for a suitable vacuum to fit a scottoiler on a diversion (the new one). There is a spare blanked tube that looks like it is used for analysis when it goes on a pc, is this suitable? Thanks Wil
  15. Have a new(ish) diversion F, have always used Scottoilers, and rate them. Have not had a prod around yet, but is there an easy way to get to the vacuum tube that opens the fuel tap. Or if there is does anyone know a reason not to just put a T piece in and go for it. Wil
