Chain Care
I have been jetwashing it! Maybe that is one of the reasons why the last one went so quick. After speaking to the guy at the garage he advised against it as XT's are only 10hp it would hardly make a difference and it would lose a lot of speed when cruising. So I didn't bother.

Skimming brakes
They will just clean themselves when you use them, they will be ok after a few miles. Unless they are FUBAR.

Chain Care
I've just had a good quality chain and sprocket set fitted which wasn't cheap. The last one I had fitted in April was totally knackered, even though it was the cheapest shittest set available I could have prolonged it's life by taking better care of it. I use my bike everyday to do about 8 miles, how often should I clean and lube it? I want this set to last until March when she gets sold.

HID headlight conversion
Aren't HID'd illegal? I need to upgrade my headlight badly.

Bar muffs any good?
My bike has hand guards and they honestly make a massive difference in deflecting the cold and rain.

Whats your time worth?
As my mechanical knowledge is limited I can only do so much. I have just booked my bike in to get the chain and sprockets replaced, a simple job I know, but I am very busy with work and Uni and if anything were to go wrong I would be without transport. I could save myself £50 labour, which I am a bit pissed off about. I've never done that particular job before, but I would have a go and most likely pull it off. In the future though I am going to do simple jobs like that myself.

fuel differences
I'm not sure of all the technical stats Yes it does make a difference. I noticed more or less straight away that my bike became sluggish and the engine even sounded like I was revving the arse of it. I know for a fact it made a big difference when I switched to Jet standard. I'm not deluded and I am never using regular unleaded again. It costs about an extra 8p a litre so it means nothing when you have a 10 litre capacity tank. My engine has been fine using it since March. Have you ever tried it?

fuel differences
I have run my bike on Shell V-Power since getting it. I know people will say that it makes no difference, but it does, and the extra 8 pence more it costs than regular fuel is nothing, especially as it only costs £13 odd to fill her up. Anyway the other day I got caught out and had to use a Jet garage. Jet don't even have a quality equivalent to V-Power so I had to put their regular unleaded in. I noticed how different my bike was, it was sluggish and slower and the engine rattled like fuck. It wasn't good at all. I then put some Shell in it and it was okay after a while. It definitely makes a difference buying super unleaded.

Hand muffs, heated grips, what's wrong with buying a decent set of gloves?

Help, Water and Oil Light
Firstly, I was only joking and I thought that was clear. Maybe I should of put 'lo'l at the end of the sentence. Secondly, if you think this forum is unfriendly you haven't been on many other sites. This site is the most friendliest of the lot! Also I think people should post an introduction about themselves. That way we know basic information such as age, gender, location, and what bike(s) they have.

Dt125x not turning over
Bit off-topic, but if the bike was hit by a car is the frame ok? It could be weakened or bent.

Wd40 on front brake.
A friend thought he was doing me a favour by blathering my brakes in WD40 to stop them squeaking. I had to use brake cleaner and replace the pads. The pads did work to an extent, but not to a satisfactory level.

Sorry Guys...
Not my personal choice of bike type, but a good looking, excellent machine. Congrats, you can't go wrong with any of the top Jap bikes.

Increasing a bikes value
I don't think anyone buys a bike with the intention of storing it for 30 years to make a profit.

New speedo, at last!
I didn't realise, you would have to support it with something under the bash plate though?

XT125 R wheels on an X model
I'd never even heard of a supermoto until I got my XT, but I love them. They're perfect for my commuting and I can race around as well. I'm getting an XT 600 supermoto next. I thought about doing a bit of green laning but just love my sm's too much now. I might get a wr or drz one day to do a bit of off roading.
