  1. Headlight gone! Checked to see what the problem was and the little metal terminal that the wire clips onto has snapped clean off. I tried loctite but failed miserably. Looks like I'll have to buy a new headlight unit.
  2. I want to but I think the fork seals are a bit too much for me to contend with. I would rather just get them done properly. Maybe if I had a garage or workshop I would attempt it. I'll have a good luck at the videos later and see what's what.
  3. I'll have to clean it first. Sorry guys but I might just get the garage to do it, they only charge £60. Really cba with the hassle, and I will make a mess of it. But I am doing all the other work, brake pads, electrics, chain guard ect, all for the M.O.T.
  4. Does my blow up doll count?
  5. I am, I'll do it with a friend, not wasting money anymore.
  6. Thanks guys, I'm going to have to think about this one. Either way I'm best off doing both at the same time.
  7. Might as well buy new fucking forks xxxx
  8. Definitely too advanced for me : ( more money to the garage. Ffs.
  9. Nah, it only needs left fork seal, how much would it cost roughly?
  10. The charge doesn't last long or the the life of the battery doesn't?
  11. Are you taking the piss?
  12. Can someone please advise me on changing/repairing fork seals? Thanks
  13. It's a great idea I hope it lifts off.
  14. If your bike does get nicked I have read your insurance trebles and your insurance companies become very limited. Seems all fucked up.
  15. Why wasn't this thread started a week ago lol? I have a basic knowledge but probably nothing useful. It would be good though to shadow/observe to learn for myself. Bradford, West Yorkshire
  16. Hi Noise, The battery is a gel battery so doesn't contain acid and holds its charge. You can leave them for years, a lot of people use them for winter storage.
  17. Right guys just got back from the garage. The price is £347.68 not £357.68, this includes, Rear pad/disc/bearing New rear tyre Battery (deduct the price of a battery from above) Spoke fitting Labour for all above and finding out what's wrong with electrics. Bad side, my bike is due an M.O.T. Next month and it needs Front brake pads Chain guard (advisory) Electrical problem which is when high beam is on rear brake light goes off???? I think this is minor and was caused by me when I changed bulb etc. From now on every Sunday will be used to clean/repair/maintain/check my bike. I am also going to repair everything my self and at least attempt it, otherwise I will leave the garage as a last resort if I am out of my depth. The garage I use are good guys and I trust them.
  18. No they checked it all yesterday and it was the battery, luckily I bought one last year but never used it. No more fucking mechanics, all work is getting undertaken by me in the future. I will only go to a garage if I am incapable of a D.I.Y. job.
  19. Are you all sitting down? The price to get it all running again, bearings/pads/discs/electrics!!!!! £357.68, But!!!! Deduct more because the electrical/engine problem was down to a shagged battery, but I have a brand new spare at home, so deduct money for that. But needs a few bits for M.O.T. Like a spoke, chain guard, reflectors.
  20. I going to phone them in the morning. I told them they can do the bearings/disc/brakes but not commence any other work without a quote.
  21. Thinking back now, the engine problem started when I changed the bulb for a xenon one. Still no news from garage will phone them in the morning.
  22. What a fucking scum bag, trying to leech more money out of you. Make sure you go back and have it out with the low life cunt. Keep us updated.
