  1. Thanks guys, I will be taking extra special care of her. No fuck ups. Yep she'll be getting blathered in AC-50 and John it's a 2013, brand new. It seems I will still be getting shafted though, not by the garages but by the insurance.
  2. Cheers guys. I'm a bit miffed it's only 2 years warranty. Once I have paid it off and sell her on I'll still get more than £2k back. I'm going to scrub her with a toothbrush inch by inch every night lol.
  3. Just put the deposit down on this beast. Brand new bike, 2 years warranty. What can go wrong? From now on its trouble free, smooth riding. I can finally put the XT in the back of my friends garage and leave it there until I can be arsed putting a new engine in it, then sell it in the spring/summer.

Ffs I feel like fucking it off it has brought me too much misery. At times I have wanted to cry (but couldn't because I'm too masculine). I'm getting a brand new bike on finance so the cash could go towards a the deposit. Don't know what to do. I just want to resolve the fuck up in a civil manner without me getting shafted. Seriously what a fucking joke this whole farce has been. I bet people think I'm making it up now.

UPDATE***** They have offered to split the labour cost and make me pay for parts. Shall I take their offer?
  7. Please sign this petition to preserve our green lanes and prevent the Peak District National Park Authority enforcing traffic regulations on our green lanes. If successful this could be the beginning of the end of our rights to green lane. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/peak-district-national-park-authority-we-call-on-the-peak-district-national-park-authority-to-stop-imposing-traffic-regulation-orders-on-our-green-lanes?share_id=tumWzKtHwP&utm_campaign=signature_receipt&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition

I haven't paid them or picked the bike up. I'm going to try talk to them first and try to resolve the problem, if not I will be talking to trading standards etc.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try talk to talk to the mechanics on Monday (when I've calmed down) and see if they can be decent and we can come to an arrangement. This is the last straw now. I really don't know what to do. I think I'm just going to get a brand new bike on finance.

Just spoke to the garage and after spending £50 on a starter motor, £20 on a new battery and owing the garage £351 for parts and labour, it now needs a new engine. I can't believe it. They are saying there is something wrong inside the gearbox and it would be cheaper to get a new engine.
  11. So how much would it cost to rebuild a little 125 starter motor? Surely it wouldn't take too long?
  12. Yeah and the problem is they are best garage in my town.
  13. I was insured with them before this and was happy with them. They just try it on and 90% of people will just pay them without question.
  14. I do want to learn Jimmy but I'm doing a full time degree and work full time. I don't have a minute to myself. P DT, yeah I will be pissed off if they try charging me.
  15. Insured my bike only to find the policy starts 5 days from when I wanted it to. Couldn't understand why as I had put the correct date on the form. So I phoned them up to amend it. So to sort their mistake out it added another £130 onto my policy. I couldn't believe it. I then said I will get cover elsewhere and I want it cancelling. Then they kept phoning me back to 'explain' why they added £130 extra to my policy. I told them I wasn't bothered about their explanation, they phoned me back four times the idiots. When they finally realised I wasn't as stupid and gullible as they thought they then tried to charge me a £58 cancellation fee. At this point I lost my temper, I told them to go fuck themselves and I wasn't paying them a penny etc etc. After I calmed down I phoned them back, they still haven't accepted I wanted to cancel. After I told them how scandalous they are and I am speaking to trading standards etc they said they will reduce my cancellation fee to £23. I told them this is unacceptable and I am going to be going to trading standards, citizens advice etc, then surprise surprise and I quote 'The manager has just whispered in my ear that we are willing to drop the fee and give you a full refund.' VICTORY Dirty scum fucks. I'm sat here now thinking about the millions of gullible people who the insurance companies practically steal from day in day out. Oh and in the end found a policy £45 cheaper hahahaha
  16. The problem is garages are limited in my area and to be honest these guys are ok, I trust them. I bought the starter motor for £50 and its fine they tested it. I also bought a new battery for £22 saving me £18 as they were going to charge me £40 for one. Went to get the bike as it was ready.Only to find it won't shift down gears. So now they have to open it up again ffs. I was so happy seeing the bike running. I was stood there waiting to ride off but NO!
  17. Go to collect my bike as it was supposedly ready. Get there and surprise fucking surprise theres a problem, the bike wont go down gears ffs. No w they have to open it up again.
  18. The second hand starter is fifty pounds, I'm buying my own battery for twenty quid as well as they charge 40. It needed a new gear shaft Welding a little bit in the case that snapped off? The sump plug thread had knackered so that needed redoing. So 700 minus 270 now.
  19. Think ill chance it and buy the motor. I'll buy my own battery from eBay for £25 as well. Not getting fucked over.
  20. Surprise surprise my bike has gone from needing a simple repair and gear shaft to £700 min of work. The starter motor has collapsed. It was in a poor state so can't question it. New ones are £300 but I've seen a used one on eBay for £50. Will I be ok using a second hand one? It needs a new battery because it was stood for 5 months. The battery was brand new a few months ago, surely it will charge or is this correct? Thanks

Foamy it's eating away at you knowing you lost the bargain of a lifetime, you can't sleep on a night stressing over it haha. All my bad luck has been used now, I've had a lifetimes worth in less than a year.

I thought about, especially as I had no excess to pay. But knowing my luck it would of backfired. I'm confident that once I get her back it's nothing but trouble free riding from there on.
