I have an XT 125 and my speedo is knackered, after reading this thread I checked my number plate bulb and that is knackered as well.

You definitely need a cover if your bike is going to be exposed to the elements. I bought mine from Argos a few months ago for £20 and it is sound. It is a bit thin, but it is waterproof and does the job.

Since getting my bike straight away I noticed the large amount of unwanted attention it creates. Every single time I venture out I get kids, adults, chavs, idiots and other various people I do not wish to engage with more or less harassing me. Mostly its just people asking me questions about it, which I don't mind, but yesterday some guy offered to buy my bike off me for £1000, I told him it's not for sale but he carried on and on, the retard said to me he bought the exact same model and year bike as mine for £300 a few weeks ago and that I was lucky to be offered a £1k and should take it. I paid £1300 for my bike and have pumped hundreds into it already. I value it at £1500. I'm not even selling it! I'm getting sick of all the unwanted attention it attracts.

Hi Corey, I've got an XT 125 X, I can't help you with your problem though because I';m crap at mechanics, I post on here every two minutes winging about something lol.

My friend has just fitted a new alarm to my bike today. It cost me £30 off eBay and I love it. It's really sensitive and loud as hell. I swear knowing that there's an alarm on my bike now I can relax, the paranoia, stress, and anxiety I have suffered fretting over it getting stolen has really given me a hard time. Now it has just gone like a weight been lifted from my shoulders.

I know it's not for everyone but you have to admit some speed cameras are unfair. Speed camera's are just a way of generating more money to fund the politicians lavish lifestyles. I'm not saying bomb around the streets at over 100m.p.h. I just think it's a great invention that gets one over on the authorities.

Blackhat, I am surprised that the speedo is not needed for an m.o.t. mine has been knackered for a while now and I was wondering about that. I've got used to not having it now anyway, just being careful of speed cameras by using other vehicles as speed guides.

I do think its cool and understand the appeal. I think it's a biker's bike (if that makes sense)?

I could never do that to my bike. My aim is to get it in showroom condition, like it's brand new.

I've fitted them. It was easy, and I enjoyed it. I just lost a screw inside the bike somewhere lol.
