Removing the front wheel?
Thanks Slice. I didn't see the two bolts. I have removed them but the spindle still won't budge. I have used WD as well. I'm using a 17mm socket but it seems a bit loose but a 16mm socket won't fit. It;s pissing me off now. Can't face using public transport.

Sacha I can't even get the wheel off, let alone the tyre. It's proper stressing me out.

Removing the front wheel?
I tried taking my front wheel off this morning and couldn't do it. I took my fork protectors off and then there is a 17mm nut that won't budge. I also tried knocking the spindle through and failed at that. I don't want to damage it using too much force. I've watched some videos on youtube but all the bikes forks are different and theres no videos specific to my WR. This is the diagram https://www.yamahamotorcyclespares.co.uk/genuineparts/19237/26/yamaha wr125x 2013/front wheel?uID=0

I thought you needed a tyre machine to get the tyre off and I didn't think a punctre kit would be strong enough to hold a motorbike inner tube.

Finished wok today and went to my bike to find the front tyre was flat. Really pissed off because of all the inconvenience it will cause me. I'll get up earlier for work to catch the bus now. It will be Tuesday by the time I get a new inner tube delivered and then I have to get it fitted. I will have to take the wheel off myself and take it to a garage. I've only just got the chain and sprockets sorted, which I was really pleased with. I got a gold chain and it looks the business. I really hope the curse hasn't come back to haunt me.

ybr chain question
Hopefully that was the reason my chain kept stretching. Thinking about it now I'm really lucky none of my chains snapped. It must of been stupidly tight once I'd tightened them up.

ybr chain question
Today I got new a new chain and sprockets set fitted. I decided to spend a bit more this time on a better quality one (£50). It looks the part and you can tell the difference in quality just by looking at it. Anyway as you all know I have bad experiences in the past with garages who are incompetent, dishonest and greedy. Anyway took my bike to a garage half a mile up the road, the guy has been there since 1974 so that was a good start. Everything went fine he did the job and had my bike ready when he said he would. When I picked the bike up he spent some time with me giving me advice and it turns out I have been adjusting my chain wrong! He explained to me when I tighten it up before I check the slack of the chain I need to sit on the bike first. I didn't know that when I sit on the bike the chain tightens! So after all this time I know what I have been doing wrong.

ybr chain question
I tried the more expensive heavy duty ones and the one that come on the bike new was crap. I'll buy another good quality one this time spending more money but I doubt it will make a difference. It must be how I'm riding it.

ybr chain question
The problem is the chain just stretches and I have to tighten it every few weeks up to the point where there is no space left on the swingarm for the marker plates to go.

ybr chain question
Didn't want to start a new thread because there is loads of related posts already but............... I don't understand why the chains on 125's don't last me. I have done under 5000 miles and I need a new chain and sprockets set. People all say that that can't be right and I should be getting over 10K miles before needing a new one. The same thing happened on my XT and now it's happening on my WR. I do ride the bike hard but I always lube it and look after it not obsessively but I don't neglect it. What am I doing wrong?

Rape Alarms
That's nice of you all. If every member contributed £2 I get a top of the range alarm. I totally forgot about alarms. I got a decent one for about £35 for the XT but do I really want to start playing with the electrics on my bike? Dont think i do.

Rape Alarms
Yeah John I used to but moved into a new house with the mrs.

Rape Alarms
It doesn't matter how much security you have, if the scum want it they will get it.
-
Rape Alarms
Yes John they work like a grenade, the pin needs to be pulled to activate it. I keep my bike in my garden it has 4 heavy duty chains, 2 disc locks and 2 d locks. It is pretty secure and it's right under my bedroom window. My neighbours keep a listen/look out as well. I was thinking of fixing it to the bike and the wall or something so when the bike gets moved it will set it off.

Rape Alarms
This one is really loud. I will easily hear it. I keep my bike in the garden because I don't have a garage so it is just a bit of extra security.

Rape Alarms
These guys have been following me about and making me feel uneasy. I'm sure they want to drag me in the bushes and have their way with me. To feel a bit safer I have bought a rape alarm. Only joking. I saw somewhere ages ago (probably on here) that rigging a rape alarm to your bike makes a good little security device. I managed to get one from somewhere but lost it. I found it yesterday at the back of some drawers so I'm going to rig it up to my bike. It will wake me up if it goes off. They're a great cost effective form of security. You can even probably get one for free.

Cheers Silkk.

are you willing to help??
Yep not even done 6k miles. It must be definitely something to do with 125's. I had this problem with my old bike. I thought it was me but then I always made sure I cleaned and lubed the chain and it still happens. Bradford.

XT125 Speedometer
Yeah it's a massive fault with the original and replacent Yamaha XT 125 X/R speedo's. I bought the trail tech vapor and it was spot on.
-
XT125 Speedometer
I used the trail tech on my old XT and it was fine. Just don't buy a Yamaha one because they are notorious for breaking.

Buying a Bike unseen
It should of sent alarm bells ringing when they refused a credit/debit card payment. If you pay by card you are protected, that's why they wouldn't take one. I hope you get it sorted. good luck.
