  1. It's nearly time to renew my insurance and I'm thinking is it worth getting theft cover? From what I have seen and heard when a person who is covered gets their bike stolen they get shafted by the insurance anyway. So would it be better just to invest in more security and be more vigilant? I am considering going third party only. Opinions?
  2. Got overtaken by a DT today, probably some teenager, I couldn't do out because a van was in the way. A DT would beat my 4T XT 125 anyway. It was pretty embarrassing to be honest. One thing I noticed as he was in front of me is that the wheels on his bike looked really thin, ridiculously thin.
  3. Nice bike, I'd love to own it.
  4. Not 100% sure, but I doubt it, the discs will be a different size.
  5. Thanks Slice, I have thought that it may have been there for a while, or it has just worked its way through the system after a long time. Also I have recently run my bike bone dry of petrol so this crossed my mind as well, if it was some crap that has got through the system. Sorry if this is impossible but I'M not a mechanic lol.
  6. I usually buy a new plug each time I change the oil but didn't this time and it has threaded. I got a bit carried away on tightening it last time.
  7. Yes I think that is the cause, I did really over tighten it last time I changed the oil. Cheers.
  8. I've just changed the oil in my 4T XT 125 and in the old oil there was a shard of metal in the bottom just like a coil, exactly the same as a corkscrew opener but a lot smaller. The bike has been running fine. Can some one please tell me what this is? I hope it is nothing serious. Thanks
  9. Unlucky mate, I feel for you. I think it is down right scandalous what has happened to all the people in your situation. The E.U. With their interfering yet again. We need out of it.
  10. I was reading an article last week about tests booked which had been cancelled due to the snow. As far as I know it's too late you have to do your test under the new rules regardless of the pre new law booking.
  11. Haha nothing, although I always have my back pack, I don't carry tools.
  12. I tried for ages to get the pump on the valve but it was impossible, a guy even helped me who was waiting to use the air pump because I was holding the queue up.
  13. I know I've been an idiot, it just never crossed my mind.
  14. You can only due restrict 125 two strokes. Four strokes such as WR's you can only buy those add on exhausts which give a little bit more H.P. max speeds from a 125 4 stroke is about 65 mph give or take. I think those YZF-125's do 80 mph. It all depends what you want, four strokes are slower but a lot more reliable and providing its a Jap bike more or less maintenance free. Two strokes are faster but a lot more expensive to run because you have to buy top quality two stroke oil, and have to regularly maintain them doing engine rebuilds after about 10,000 miles.
  15. Sorry didn't realise there was a new section.
  16. I remember when I got my front tyre fitted and it came back rock hard, it felt really weird and took some getting used too. It felt like I was riding a hovercraft or something lol.
  17. The bicycle pump worked a treat and only took 30 seconds, how wrong was I!
  18. Cheers mate, I didn't realise how flat it was, I'm just glad the coppers were decent. I'm definitely going to have to buy one for the future. I've found a bicycle pump to do the job for the time being. Since getting the bike 11 months ago I have never checked the tyres once, I really need to start paying more attention and care to my bike.
  19. Well done mate, your on the ladder now so start getting ready for the next step.
  20. What a fooking carry on. My rear tyre is dangerously under-inflated and my front needs air as well. Now I've got to fanny about looking for a foot pump. I,ve got a bike pump somewhere, but won't that take forever? Also it doesn't have a gauge.
  21. Got pulled today by armed response. I thought wtf! Turns out they were just warning me that my rear tyre was under inflated. I must say that the officers in question were very polite and helpful and seemed very genuine. Luckily I was just by a petrol station so I went to inflate my tyre, but the air pump would not fit on the valve because the of the brake disc on one side and swing arm on the other, so I then attempted to inflate the front, and again the pump wouldn't fit onto the valve because the wheels were too wide and valve was not tall enough. Where can I inflate my tyres?
  22. I am not 100% certain, but I very much doubt it. XT 125 engines are only 10 H.P.
