Filling her up - Quickly?
Ignore other drivers, there are plenty of other pumps. As Tasky says, don't put the nozzle to far into the neck of the tank. I tend to angle the nozzle so that the fuel swirls round into the tank, seems to work best for me. I wouldn't worry about adjusting the position of the bike though, wouldn't want to risk any spillage etc.

XVS under 1300 no longer sold?
maybe its for the best... I may have been tempted to go for one of the bigger models.... at least now there is only one I have to stop myself from looking at...

XVS under 1300 no longer sold?
Random question... Have Yamaha stopped selling XVSs other than the 1300s?

Rear wheel wobble
Whilst it sounds like the source of your wobble might have been diagnosed already... if it somehow turns out not to be tyre related, then do you have a back box fitted? If so, it may be positioned too far back. Mine is adjustable and I had to move it forward due to a wobble.

Newbie
Hi Andy, I also have the XVS 950. Only concerns I have ever had is with the amount of vibration at high speed, but I find using premium fuel dampens that down a lot. I commute 100 miles each day and use the bike for that as much as I can. Also took it to France riding 2 up and a crap load of gear. The bike has performed great.

Rear end twitches
Do you have a back box or anything? Mine had shifted backwards overtime and made the rear-end very unstable in much the same way you have described. I moved the box forward and retightened with better screws and that has completely brought it back into line :-)

Petrol Preferences
I use either Shell V power or BP ultimate, I prefer the Shell but it depends on what stage I am on the 100 mile (round trip) daily commute. I have a BP garage 21 miles from the house another about 26 miles (half way between home and work) and then the Shell garage which is about 12 miles from the office. If I plan far enough ahead I could always take a different motorway home and stop off at another Shell garage which is about 9 miles from the house. I find that they both give better mpg than regular but I think shell is a little better. I also think that the bike has less vibration and rides better when using these over regular, and again I think the shell slightly edges it. This could all be completely in my head and there is actually no difference lol.
