Get them to show you EXACTLY what has failed and EXACTLY what they have done to repair whatever they are saying, i have the 2006 model the DT125RE and have the wire earthed with no problems atall.. please dont tell me you paid them to do the wire trick aswell?
  4. If you're not going to be riding any other bike other than your own and the area you keep you bike is an OK enviroment and not many dickheads about that will attempt to steal the bike then just make sure its locked up in a safe place and go for Third party only, how much cheaper would it be with just 3rd party? if its not a great amount then stick with fully comp, dont forget it will get cheaper as the years pass without any claims I wouldn't say i knew too much about insurance but hopefully this helps you?
  5. thanks for the replies guys, i asked a friend to see if they could hear it and straight away he said it was the clutch? which doesnt suprise me because when i got the bike it was empty, but i cant really tell if it has gone down again, there doesnt seem do be a leak anywhere, any suggestions? many thanks once again for your time
  6. Hello all, i have not long had rebuild on my DT125RE and i have been taking it easy and i'm just wondering if it is supposed to have a really slight hollow rattle? you cant really hear it over the noise of the engine and is easier to hear when decreasing revs, does anyone have an idea as to what this maybe? thanks for reading

Alright mate just checked ebay for you and the standard sprocket sizes are as follows, 16 Tooth front sprocket 57 Tooth rear sprocket if you are after more top end performance the you can either get a smaller rear sprocket or a larger front sprocket, i wouldnt reccomend going to much lower though, maybe just go up a tooth on the front. By doing this you do lose some performance accelerating. In my opinion the bikes are fast enough with the standard sprocket sizes and have great power through out the gears. Let me know how you get on, goodluck! heres a link for the standard chain and sprockets providing your bike is on the title of the listing, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-DT125R-DT125X-1989-07-D-I-D-Chain-and-Sprocket-Standard-Kit-/150709232137?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2316f86209
  8. Helloo, if you're after a cheaper insurance then just go for Third party, i paid mine a few months back for the whole 12months, i think it was about £430 so it seems a little expensive, i got my best quotes from www.comparethemarket.com
  9. thanks for the quick reply, i wasnt sure how you read the tyre sizes, i think i will stick with my Avon distanzia set

that bike looks awsome! you should get a business going - i wouldnt mind you tinkering about with mine if it was finished to such a hi standard like this one!
  11. sorry for the late reply, how have you got on?
  12. Hellooo, I'm thinking about getting more of an off roasd tyre on my DT125RE but the specifications standard are, Front tyre dimensions: 80/90-21 Rear tyre dimensions: 110/80-18 and the ones i'm thinking about getting are, Front tyre dimensions: 80/100-21 Rear tyre dimensions: 110/100-18 will they fit without them popping off the rim? or is it a big nono - Thanks for reading

Airheads your man with these bikes, i was going to say the same as Airhead
  14. OR it could be that you have mixed too much 2 stroke oil with petrol, do you mix it yourself then add it to your tank or does your model have separate 2stroke tank??
  15. yeah it seems to me to be somthing with your carb, do you know if the main jet is the right one? have a read through this mate,
  16. sometimes this is the case, just trying to help
  17. has you mechanic checked that the Main jet size is correct in the carb?
  18. when you get to the maximun revs does it sound like its bogging and losing power, about to die?
  19. if i am honest with you i have no idea but aslong as it isnt leaking then i wouldnt be too botherd about it, hows your bike running, good or bad?
  20. i havent tried this myself but i have heard people warming them up and then with the opposite end off a srew driver knock them out byy hitting it, try and find a screw driver that fits the diameter of where the bearings are and just give them a tap out

yep lol, on my old bike i went through a tight gap and ripped my front radiatior scoops off, cable ties saved them ahaha - the whole thing had cable ties everywhere
  22. if 2 stroke oil, i'ld go straight for silkolene, but theres plenty out there
  23. the standard setup is 16T Front and 57T rear, i think its best to stick with the stock setup but let me know how you get on
