  1. You are most welcome. And to the YOC! You'll find an abundance of information here. Thanks! Nicked it from someone's photobucket account (actually I linked to it, so it's not like I totally stole it right?). Makes me want a white russian though.
  2. to the YOC! You'll find the folks here are full of useful info.
  3. I think you've posted your questions in the right place, but you should probably introduce yourself in the new member section too just to let the folks know who you are. good luck on the engine swap. I must've been asleep... looks like this is in the wrong forum. You've posted your questions in the "forum help" area and should probably post in the workshop section... but definitely introduce yourself first.
  4. Sorry I can't help you out on the tech info, but you should introduce yourself in the new member section if you're looking for help. hope you get the issues sorted and get your new (to you) scoot up and running.
  5. Yea I'll pay your cab fare home, you can even use my best cologne, just don't be here in the morning when I wake up

  7. I'm from good old Idaho. Recently made the fake news too. Feckin hilarious... and yet so sad. Love it!
  8. Allen! I'm afraid I'm not any help on your questions as I am only 5'2" and I enjoy the upright riding position myself. Just feels more comfortable for me than having my feet out in front of me. I also live in the states so I don't know any of the finance companies there. Thanks for nothing, eh? Just wanted to welcome you aboard! I'm sure the other folks on here will have some suggestions for you.
  9. Had the same kind of thing happen with a bumble bee... at least I think it was a bumble bee... coulda been a june bug or something. Whatever it was it was huge, and the smack it made on my helmet was shocking! I think some of the bugs here could put out an eye.
  10. You just want to click on the image button in the html editor toolbar and then paste the image url without the image tags. Looks like you got it. That is some bike btw!
  11. to the YOC Ayrton! I take it your folks were some serious race fans, eh? Sounds like good people to be named after. Good luck on your test btw!
  12. Welcome aboard Beth! There's a FAQ section in the New Members area, but maybe my will work. You'll need to have a photobucket account and then you can link to the pictures there. Hopefully that helps.
  13. Welcome to the YOC. I suppose the best bike will depend on your taste. Do you like cruisers, "bullet" bikes, enduros? Are you looking for a commuter, an around town, or a touring bike? The other folks will probably have a better idea as they've ridden quite a but more than myself. I'd day get something big enough but not too big. I'm already on the hunt for a bigger bike.
  14. i'm depressed, it's nine below zero...

  15. Here in Idaho kids under 18 are required to wear a helmet, but adults have the choice. Although I never wore a helmet when I was under 18 so that may have changed after I turned 18. I do see plenty of adults and kids wearing shorts and tank tops and have to think that the first time I burned my leg on an exhaust was the last time I wore shorts on a motorbike. I was a kid then, but nowadays I don't ride without a full face helmet and my jacket and gloves (regardless of the weather). I did not allow my nephew to ride pillion in his tank top this weekend though. I just wouldn't want him to have to pick gravel out of his skin if anything were to happen. I just figure shit happens and I'd rather have it and not need it. I'm not going to chastise others for their choices though. They can do whatever pleases them (to each his own).
  16. Very nice man! You do awesome work.
  17. droplets of yes and no, in an ocean of maybe...

  18. LMAO! you all are making my Monday much more bearable! thanks
  19. What happens when you try to start it? You said you have new plugs... have you checked for spark? You know you have fuel? Does the bike have a petcock? Is it in the on position? Does the bike require you to pull in the clutch when you start it? Is there a side stand cutoff switch? I know those are all pretty basic, but those are the only suggestions I can think of off the top of my head. If the bike turns over but doesn't catch it could very well be something entirely different. I'm sure the folks on here have loads of experience getting machines started after years of standing.
  20. Hi Stitch. I'm only 5'2 so can't help you on the height issues... but you may want to post an intro in the new member section.
