Check the FAQ section for help posting pics too. You'll have to upload them to photobucket first.

I have an old bent screwdriver that I use for pulling rings and seals. Always better to ask than break things (IMO). No advice on the metal or paint... I haven't made it that far yet
-
I'll stay tuned to the project to see how it turns out.

it's always done the job i needed it to do. mwah ha ha ha! love it! only, he'd never use it. speedybond sounds good too... might have to add that into the birthday present.

TBH I was a little bit confused by the blog at first... but don't take that the wrong way... I'm easily confused. From what I gather the very top picture is the project bike at the start. Then the next picture is the "mock-up" of what you're going for as far as structure and shape. If that's right... I love it! I like this tank better than the original one for sure. And that original seat was fugly (IMHO of course)... it's probably comfortable I'll give it that.

Love what you did! Better than the original IMHO.

Nice! Song of the Sausage Creature

Looks beautiful! And I'm sure it's even better that she runs as well as she looks! nice work.

Love the the cafe racers.

Ah I see. I've used JB Weld before, but I'm sure there are better ones. Is there a specific one you'd recommend?

Liquid metal eh? That sounds interesting. I'll have to google it. Thanks DirtyDT!

post some pics when you get her.

my bike gave me some bruises tearing her apart this last weekend.

It sounded like a good idea at the time. He's got a great voice for narration.

Thanks Phil! I'll try not to bore ya to death. This will be my first motorcycle brake replacement. I did the pads on my old pickup, but that was ages ago and they were disc brakes. I did notice a tear in the seat pan so might have a little welding to do, but I'll keep that fiber glass cloth in mind too. Thinking about getting a sand blasting cabinet... yay new toys! Probably won't get much done during the week... maybe some parts cleanup. Hubby's birthday is Thursday so I should probably get something together for him.

what?! you wouldn't make those boots look hot?

Buddymc! Sounds like a nice thing to do upon retiring. I still have years of work ahead of me, but retiring to a life on the road is something I can look forward to. If you get as far from home as Idaho you are welcome to holler at me. My husband and I love to get out anytime we can.

Here's the state of the seat (not so pretty is it? )... Unfortunately the brakes aren't in as good of shape as the ones on my little G7S, but hey, that's why I'm tearing it down right? Got the frame pretty much stripped today... Here's to getting everything cleaned up and back together again. Feels like I got something done this weekend (although it wasn't on my thesis)... so now it's out for dinner and a drink or two.

You missed the new member section and hit the forum help section. This one is just for technical issues with the forum, but welcome to the YOC anyway. I saw you posted your question in the new member section too though. Hopefully the info YPVS Tone posted was helpful. Are you still looking for the colors? You'll probably want to post a proper intro in the new member section and then post your question in the bar. It could easily be overlooked here (and in the new member section). Good luck.

Well, what year? I don't even know if that matters, but I'm clueless anyway. I have a 1976 DT175C and it's blue and white... yours is silver (probably newer)? Or do you mean the mudguards? I found this forum post and Airhead mentions the silver color. Might help if you post an intro in the new member section too.
