  1. The "closed" side goes opposite the oil. So the open side goes toward the crank (inward) and the closed side toward the gear lever. If I understand right. Someone will know. Edit- install it the way the old one came out?
  2. Idaho allows riders (over 18) the choice of wearing a helmet. And all the time there's folk here who choose not to wear one... along with choosing shorts and tank tops. I've even seen a kid on the back of a motorbike in shorts. Makes me cringe. edit- holy shit! Just read that and watched the vid. Next time anyone gives me shit for gearing up I'll tell them to look at her story.
  3. ccrider! Twins eh? Double the fun, double the money! Post up any questions in the workshop if you haven't already. You can also start a project thread and give us a view of your progress.

Good thing you've got a little one already... were you planning on more kids? Seriously though looks like you're moving right along. I better get my butt in gear or you will have it done before me.
  5. LMAO. Suits plenty folk around here perfectly.

Here's what I've been up to... rebuilt two carburetors... found out the one from Dave's bike was not looking well. so decided to use the one I found on ebay. Then I had to rebuild the carb on the little bike because she decided to have a bladder problem (again). This time I went as far as taking the throttle slide out and I did find some gunk in there. I'm hoping that some of that gunk made it's way down and was the cause of the overflow. Hopefully it'll be fixed this time. After spending that morning on the little carburetor, I managed to get the motor mounted with some help from Mike... I thought I'd have a day's worth of work to get the exhaust, carb, air intake, etc. mounted, and I got started with the exhaust... only I ran into trouble. The holes on the exhaust flange of my original exhaust are too small for the studs on Dave's cylinder. So I thought I'd be clever and clean up Dave's exhaust and just use it. Got that done and went to install it. Here's what I found... The original exhaust would reach the manifold, but the flange won't go over the studs, and Dave's exhaust wouldn't even reach the manifold. Damn it! Out with the measuring tape... I guess that's what happens when you use bits from two different bikes. Long story longer... she's still not done. Now I have to decide which way to move forward. Do I drill the holes out on my original exhaust flange? Do I get into my original motor and just get that one done so everything fits? Do I tear down Dave's donor bike and get all of his parts back on it? Oh, the choices...
  10. Wow! That looks sharp. Great deal.

Hmm... I'd (finally) finish my DTs for everyday riding... and I'd love to do a full restore on my dad's 1940 flathead, but I'm partial to the character of the knucklehead so I'd probably see about getting one. I'm also liking Honda's CB1100 retro... and Triumph's 2013 Bonneville CR. But they're all probably too tall for me anyway so it's probably good I'm poor.
  12. What?! Pocatello Idaho? Me too. Welcome aboard Josh! Would love to see your bikes and watch the progress.
  13. Welcome aboard! Good luck getting her on the road. I'm no help at all with that as I'm in the states and completely clueless as to the regulations there... well, completely clueless anyway.
  14. Welcome to the YOC Big Dave! Post questions in the workshop section. Scroll down on the main home page to find it.
  15. Welcome aboard! Had to Google the beluga to see what it was. Nice little scoot. What shape is the one you bought?
  16. Hi Mike. Welcome aboard. Post wanted stuff in the wanted section. But someone may be able to point you in the right direction for the exhaust you want.
