  1. jacket came today (early) I'm pleasantly surprised it came wrapped in a carrier bag (iceland) which was, apprpriately, wrapped in a bin bag smells stale, like clothes do from an army surplus store so its down in the shed hung up for an airing as my mrs pulled a face when it was opened it fits inside my existing leather jacket which what i was trying to achieve, i know that sounds odd got the idea off a couple of my brothers biker mates and it works quite well, so far so good, wait until I'm certain of all zips before postting ' I'm happy' which the seller wants me to do will give it a going over with leather care treatment as neversaydye suggested PS going on a group ride tomorrow evening, i'll see what the others think, whether I get shunned etc. there always seems to be two factions on these dos, the rich guys with their big expensive machines and the young lads with a leaning towards racing type bikes I normally end up with the minority odds and sods that don't fit either category but there's often a good sort amongst them.
  2. haha - like it I've been a member of the XJRider site (US) for some time - the Americans on there are polite and fairly serious people, humour was understated, quite different from a couple of UK forums I'd been on previously there was a Brit on there (who I have met) that wouldn't hesitate to use four letter words and sarcasm (although not in a horrible way) and I really think they had difficulty understanding what he was on about
  3. well that's the science then - seems to make sense
  4. satisfying moments?, lets see...meeting the wife was good, at a party somewhere round Camberwell/Stockwell way, getting a motorbike again, arriving home without injury, no speeding fines arriving in the next few weeks, seeing the kids happy, saying hello to the dog, getting a good outcome at work, when it's all quiet and sunny down the bottom of the garden (shed zone) and there's not lots of aircraft about just the birds singing, getting my bike back off the garage without a massive bill, enjoying a nice sleep, ticking a few more things off the 'to do' list, seeing my old Mum, receiving a tax rebate, finding a letter from my friend motorbike Andy, paying off the mortgage even if it did mean raiding the kids accounts.... still it's a nice looking car wf
  5. big hefty lump of a bike ain't it? nice clear pictures
  6. <iframe src="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/media/embed/82487954" width="567" height="345" frameborder="0"></iframe> .wrong I know...but I had to laugh.....
  7. Liberace was a fantastic piano player and entertaining showman, he had a massive following and was the most highly paid artist for a while but there was also a secret side to his life which he tried to hide from the world, his performance and personna were excessive and so was his private life - my mrs was keen to go and see the film, thinking of her childhood enjoyment, watching his shows with her Nan but neither of us quite expected the other Liberace - really couldn't watch it again despite commendable acting
  8. 2 blokes are tickling the ivorys.as it were - doesn't do much for me
  9. due to arrive thurs or friday - my neighbour will be appalled (large BMW Car)
  10. about sequel - dunno, completely different film by the looks on the web this is one scary film, especially seeing MD this way - he does a surprisingly good impression of Liberace
  11. PS didn't bother with the masks and gloves myself, Wilkinson/B & Q probably do them much cheaper, can't think I paid much for my very effective twin pack, but hey the bugs won't have settled in yours just yet, couple of years..maybe
  12. this sort of thing http://www.amazon.co.uk/fortefog-insect-killer-Includes-Gloves/dp/B00153ZUVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372684814&sr=8-1&keywords=insect+fumers
  13. Behind the Candelabra (2013) Based on the autobiographical novel, the tempestuous 6-year relationship between Liberace and his (much younger) lover, Scott Thorson, is recounted. Director: Steven Soderbergh anybody see it? some sections distinctly uncomfortable to watch, fortunately somebody in the cinema burst out laughing a couple of times which relieved the tension
  14. once in a while i have to buy these 'bombs' from a garden centre which are like a firework except that they release smoke with insecticide in it, idea is you light one of these in your greenhouse or shed and leave it - kills all the spiders and bugs for a season until they creep back in for the next year pretty evil stuff and it has a strong pungent smell - last time (actually not realising I had bought a particularly powerful one) there was no problem but this time I didn't bother waiting for night and it induced a crescendo of window slamming from the people behind yes it was anti- social of me but there again they can be a nuisance on ocassion...he he
  15. must admit the stats do worry me, sooner or later there's that character out there we are likely to come across who hasn't had enough sleep, needs new glasses or simply isn't paying attention being on the phone or changing a cd...
  16. thanks - it was £25 and £8 p & p no doubt on account of its colossal weight hasn't arrived yet, I think the receipt said by 6/7/13, I don't really need it tbh impulse buy I guess at a moment of weakness, also same with some boots the wife and girls have masses of coats and shoes/boots - their influence!
  17. there's lies. damn lies and statistics fact is though bike v cage isn't a good outcome for the biker - having received a broken leg this way in the past when a dozy car driver turned in front.
  18. yep we are hopelessly addicted as the item says:- the statistics speak for themselves, it's up to us as adults to weigh up the risks we choose to take in life.

What would make you give up biking? motorcyclists are 75 times more likely to be killed or seriously injured than car drivers, according to the Department for Transport Read more: http://www.confused.com/motorbike-insurance/articles/road-safety-what-would-make-you-give-up-your-motorcycle-motorbike#ixzz2Xk4J0CO9
  20. not a particularly nice subject - used this in an MZ club newsletter, happened to my old boss - he had some valuable motorbikes (not MZ) before he married, things went wrong and he had to sell his collection as part of an acrimonious split..
  21. anybody see the mini restoration on 'The garage - English Mobile Mechanics' stunning transformation (Quest TV)
  22. unfortunately it goes awry somewhat at the back - the material at the neck is nothing to do with the jacket, it is modelled with a hoody underneath
  23. my wife does similar, the directors of the oxfordshire hospitals are still getting bonuses...
  24. mentioning dogs, as we were earlier, I've just finihed my normal week end duty of filling in holes in the lawn that our dog has dug...
