  1. you obviously love your wife very much tommy - good for you, that's how it should be
  2. thanks guys my friend with the Fazer says.... the more powerful the bike the easier it is to ride; powerful bikes make it easier than a less powerful bike and so the rider has an easier time too but my fear is that I would have come a cropper having little self control
  3. i'm with Bennetts at present - they are Ok but to stick you if you change insurance to another bike
  4. thanx Ttaskmaster after my rant the weather improved and I did about 100 miles, traffic heavy though. called in for a snack at Hungerford but the Deli was closed - this is the place I mentioned to you Mike .more distant view of same... random shot
  5. That's me alright - how many days do we actually get when you are not at work and free to go out for a ride when the weather is good? Photo of a day out last year - Don't like greasy roads, being blinded at night by these new fanged ultra bright lights that they are putting on cars, getting soaked, getting frozen - yes sometimes unavoidable but.... wish we could grab some decent weather
  6. cradles is all i checked out - we all tend to like the stuff we grew up with or that is of a similar nature, don't think i could listen to music while riding like some do

    Lists

got a cunning plan..my 'to do list' is getting longer and longer, answer; to stop watching TV Luckily my last favourite TV programme is turning iout to be pretty rubbish (Henry cole's series on Motorbikes) I wonder how long I can resist the box? and will the 'to do' list go down any.....time will tell
  8. like all your choices sailor mike, i'd just add this, nobody does it better oh and this too, Amy Winehouse about her retutr to drugs, sad
  9. Putting some advice to the test Belonged to a bike club where one guy was a psychiatric nurse when his 'patiants' seemed to be ranting that they hadn't got stuff/done well in life he used to advise them to cherish what they had got as it would make them happier with their lot anyway.... Got offerred a Fazer recently by a friend and it has been a great temptation but then nothing wrong with what I have really The Fazer is a good looking machine and its got the performance though, I had a go, smashing bike and it felt good too! but I know I can't really afford it, so... I've been cleaning up one of my bikes, and you know what, i do feel better about turning it down, it was good advice

  11. you never know, maybe she needed transport for a job she wanted, I'm doing safety training, it's a bit 'back to school' although definitely benefited from it one or two of the trainers are a bit pedantic with their strict rules and critical manner not saying your trainer was like that but I had to bite my tongue a couple of times
  12. sometimes sheer frustration can do that, done it myself years ago in a different context

  16. 1998 Mk 1 Red 34,000 miles. T&T. Just not being used. 100% reliable. New Bridgestone tyres. New front wheel bearings. New brake pads all round. Newish Yuasa battery. Bad bits (there's always some!). The speedo has stopped working, probably I have refitted the speedo-drive incorrectly after the tyre change. The bodywork is a bit shabby, plastics not holed at all but some scratches. £850 Saw this ad - no photo, anybody got any experience with these please?
