Dt MX electrics HELP
Ahha! is that the light i see at the end ov the DT125/175/175 (replacement engine)MX/LC tunnel......... Thanx DirtyDT, i think that diagram is the closest im gona get to fix this sickly Hybrid/Mongrel plugger... Some ov the wires on the bike are different colours to the diagram but i think they actually correspond to whats fitted to the bike (except, i noticed that the LC CDi has 4 wires not 6 but i think that maybe the extra black wires on the MX(?) CDi may just connect to each other (?) I'll have another look tomorrow and report back, if you dont mind me keeping this thread going, as im going for the record!!!. ...........or maybe, just maybe that light i can see is an oncoming train!!! Dt MX electrics HELP
hi again. there only seems to be 5 wires running from the flywheel magneto. ( Yellow. White/red. Brown. Black. Green/white.) and 6 going into the CDi box. Typicaly, the Haynes manual states either 6 wires (extra red) or 3 wires (Green/white. yellow. Black/white and light blue) running frm flywheel magneto... EH??? WTF? other than that the loom seems to fit and everything else seems to be there and working ok. Although i may have worked out why things were not working properly as the frame has been heavily powdercoated, including all the Earth points! think the guy forgot to mask them or blank them off!!! DOH! XXXX

The Real Route to Happiness.......
Hej da all. I'm currently putting lights etc onto a naked DT175MX for George whos a forum lurker here... I have a spanking new loom to play with.... BUT..... The Loom-Lug positioned on the frame top tube indicates to me that the wires run on the left ov the frame, under the tank, to the seat rails but im unsure as to whether it continues on the left, running alongside the exhaust (this seems wrong to me) or whether it crosses over the monoshock onto the right hand side, and then runs along under the seat to the Battery, Stoplight etc. Or whether it comes out from under the tank, over the riders shoulder, down the back etc.........\o/ which one, oh wise ones, which one? (obviously not the last one, im not THAT much ov a bimbo!!!) Thanx all. Seana XXX XXX

Twinshock TY 175 Clutch plate thickness...
thanx babes. it must be an old one then as the thickness is 3.3mm from the back ov the plate to the top ov the friction pad. So it only worn 0.7mm... i think the backing to the friction pad must be around 2.8mm so you dont get much pad on the plates then do you? so maybe the springs got compressed a bit or the bearing on the clutch pushrod... any other possibilities??? XXX

Twinshock TY 175 Clutch plate thickness...
Oh wise ones ov the West, i wonder if anyone could tell me the thickness ov new clutch plates for a TY 175 (Twinshock). im helping a friend who has jus bought it, to get it on the Road/Fleld again and the clutch "felt" (as its not running yet) very "loose" so took the plates out and they look pretty thin (3.3mm) and smell very burnt. Would new plates help or is it maybe the springs? or even the Clutch pushrod bearing (if this model has such a thing, (my old 250 did.)) Thanx all Seana XXX

DT 125 Problem
Hi babes. Have you checked that the timing plate is moving? Ive been reading up on DT125/175 starting problems and broken/ loose Woodruff keys seem to keep reoccuring... I think you can remove the casing to get to the Rotor and peek behind it at the timing plate to check its not moved. Just a thought. Xxx

Dt 175 Mx wont start
Hi again. There seem to be loads ov posts about no spark on DT175's... Quite a few result in people replacing a broken Woodruff Key on the Crankshaft which stops the Timing Plate from spinning round and putting the timing off... Stopping the spark plug from firing at the right time. This would account for the "raggin it up and down the road" bit before it stopped working... Ebay has a DT175 Rotor puller for £10. As this problem seems to happen every now and again it'll be good to have the right tool for the job. Get one and we'll get her up and running again. Seana Xxx

Dt 175 Mx wont start
Hi George, ive been researching the potential fixes and they are many and varied... from loose wires, broken CDi's and dead Coils to a snapped Woodruff key!!! bet you didnt even know you had one ov those!!! anyway, i'm sure i can fix it, even if it is the Woodruff key problem as we have a Rotor puller here... Bring it round and we'll have a good look at it for ya. see ya s :spin2: n. Seana X nice to be on such a posh forum...
