I too am looking for some instructions on how this is done. I've been told its a simple modification to the frame. I'm hoping to get some step by step help or instructions. So far nothing but pictures.

How complicated was it to install that Lifan engine on that Chappy? Did you have to do any modifications to the frame at all? I recently got 2 1981 Chappys and I'm looking to restore them and do some upgrades. Before I do I'm trying to gather as much info as I can. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the tip.

The bike is looking great. I recently got myself 2 1981 LB50PH Chappy's. I'm new to the Chappy world. Any tips and pointers you could pass my way? Right now I'm just looking to get them running up to par. A full restoration project will happen down the road. Thanks
  5. Greetings, I am new to Y.O.C. and I have recently acquired 2 1981 LB50PH Chappys. Both are still in good condition one runs ok the other has some big problems. I am looking to get these things running up to par myself to save some money. I know these bikes are slow to begin with but right now I have one bike running at about 22 mph tops. The other bike I can hardly get it up to 15. Anyone have any tips or things I should be doing to get them to run smoother and faster? From the research I've already done these bikes should hit 30 mph no problem. Like I said this is all new to me so any tips, pointers, or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I have also nabbed 2 Yamaha Chappies. I'm guessing its late 70's maybe early 80's. 50cc motors. I have them running ok and they top out at about 22 mph. I know these bikes don't go very fast to begin with but is there any way to get them closer to 30? If all else fails I might end up taking them to a repair shop and have them tuned up but I would rather save so money and try and do it myself. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
