  1. Welcome to the site! And you'll get that licence soon - in the meantime enjoy 125 cc world - its a necessary evil!
  2. Really hot = mankini and matching helmet. Anything else = boots, armoured trousers & jacket, helmet, gloves. I reakon going out on a bike for 2 mins or 200 mins without protective gear is just nuts. Yeah it takes time to get dressed but if you're after comfort stay in & watch songs of praise for the evening. Remember, the laws of physics don't care if you're just popping down the shops. If you come off its gonna hurt! As for the Kevlar jeans - I wear these but only if it's warm - they're a good job. That's my tuppence worth anyway ....... Now, wears that mankini....... Time to rock the wife's world........
  3. Great pics 2 Wheels - and great story telling too - you've the gift of the gab there ! Interesting lesson about the delayed switch - was that on the fazer?
  4. A fellow norn iron biker? Good job. I know - weather today has been a fair bit better - quick, where's the wood .....
  5. someone has a billion times more patience than I have .... great job
  6. I'm not going to ask how you even thought this was likely on the net .....
  7. Who thought a cello could be cool ?
  8. Makes you wonder why we get on 2 wheels sometimes !!! We're all slightly mad - that's gotta be the only reason
  9. Glad you weren't hurt mate. It's a tough call whether to trust the driver in a case like that. I came off my bike in Jan and did the same - gave the driver a right proper lecture (he was at fault) - but to the point that he apologised so much I actually felt sorry for him. Still - I was glad when I knew for sure he wasn't contesting anything a few weeks later. As for the police - they told me they don't get involved if there's no personal injury unless the driver had a particularly bad driving record.
  10. It can't be true ...... please, tell me it isn't true...... But as they say, it isn't the size of the boat but the motion in the ocean
  11. Awk I know mate - and generally I take most weathers in my stride - it'a all part of biking isn't it? But I'd just love a summer that lasts longer than 2 days straight to enjoy the bike!
  12. Mike - that's magic. The next time I'm watching my gloves dry out over my office radiator I will take great confort knowing that you've had a wonderful morning lol.Still - I'd choose a wet bike over a train any day!
  13. Ok - For once I haven't slept in. I've actually got up when the 5am alarm has gone off. Had my wee bowl of cornflakes and about to hit the gym before work as I type this.. Bikes outside and warmed up. All good. Except for the fact that at some point earlier this year I must have moved to somewhere just outside a rainforest as yet again it's friggin pouring down yet again. No point to this comment - I jjust need to moan ..... hope everyone has a good (dry) day ..... like that's possible.

    Bluetooth

I've heard that some smartphones even have the odd signal that allow you to make a call - but I don't believe it myself

    Which boots?

I know this is a vague reply but I'm certain that this issue was discussed in a previous thread as I recall commenting. Any ideas anyone ? It might save Grouch a bit of time!

    Bluetooth

Morning yourself Weimieman, Thanks for the feedback. This was the very helmet I had last year! A mate & I both bought one last year and they both started playing up at the same time - we could hear callers but they couldn't hear us. I think this was down to a slightly loose connection where the battery was housed which I sorted. Trouble is now that the bugger won't charge properly. I do agree that reception was clear but I did find that at top motorway speeds it was difficult to hear the caller. I'm just wondering if spashing out a little more is worth it or are they all such systems much the same. Perhaps I just got a bad helmet - I hope yours contimues trouble free

    Bluetooth

Lads & Ladesses, Just after some advice on bluetooth sets from anyone on the site familiar with them. I commute daily by bike and would aften make & receive calls on the bike through the course of the day too. I've had a Viper helmet which has bluetooth embedded but it wasn't the most reliable. Does anyone have any experience of good quality headsets ? That way I could talk the missus ALL the time ...... yeh! Cheers

    Lol . . . So true!

    Ouch

More counter steer, less speed and looking where he should have been going I think! Still, coming off yer bike and then falling down a hillside - you gotta feel for the guy !
