Rejetting for new exhausts Dragstar 650 classic
Ok, I've had a look at the HH slash cuts on youtube: they're not really straight-through pipes, nor that particularly loud. Should be fine without rejetting.

this is how you use a go-pro
extremely well done!

Its that time of the year!
I had my local tyre shop replace the valve core in my front tyre because it was sticky. Then I went to the local carwash and pressure washed the underside and lower parts of my bike. The I rode to Kent. Then I stopped by the best jerk chicken place in South London on the way back, then I went home. Then I washed the bike some more, and waxed the shiny bits! Tomorrow I might go down to Box Hill...

Rejetting for new exhausts Dragstar 650 classic
You might be able to. Ride around for a while and see how it performs. I expect you'll get a lot of popping on deceleration. But if you get any popping on acceleration, you need to rejet stat. In any case bear in mind you'll be running the engine too lean for 3 or 4 months. When you do rejet, I'd suggest changing the plugs as well.

Any body get down to Ace Corner today?
Nope, silver dragstar 650 custom. Somebody took a picture of it! My camera was out of commission that day... But I do remember the granddaddy of the virago and star ranges!

Oi! That's me in that photo! (First from left) I met members of the Virago and Star Owners Club. Think I might join. Pity you can't see my bike in this pic. It's parked behind these nice people and a couple of other bikes. I think I remember meeting you mr o'brien65...

dragstar 1100, 0-60mph
Which it does pretty well, accelerating all of her 320kgs to 60 in just under 5 seconds... not that I'm thinking of trading up you understand. :-)

dragstar 1100, 0-60mph
Stock vs straight through pipes, K&N filter and iridium plugs, before and after. 0.28sec difference. I bet that was a lot of money for 0.28 seconds! Edit: can't seem to be able to embed videos? I read the sticky...

dragstar kill switch
Opened the switch housing today, al lot of moisture in there! WD40ed it, wiped screwed back together. Seems to be working fine now. Might get some clear silicone and apply a bit round the edges on the inside later. Thanks for all the advices guys!

dragstar kill switch
Hi guys, looks like my starter kill switch is beginning to pack in. Bike wouldn't start this morning (no cranking and I think no clicking). Came back from work this evening, checked fuses (battery is fully charged). Really pushed the kill switch in hard and it made contact, so bike started. Is this something I can fix with a bit of contact cleaner, or do I have to get a new switch? Which will be hard to find... and probably f***ing expensive...

New Star model, soon soon soon!!!
I'd really like the sportster if it wasn't for that pea-sized tank...
-
New Star model, soon soon soon!!!
Interesting. Can't help but notice it's a Sportster equivalent. Not a blatant copy, but definite echoes. It's got the engine and transmition of the xvs950 in a bike the size of the dragstar 650. Bet it's peppy!

New Star model, soon soon soon!!!
Don't think that's the one Noise, looks nice though, very dragstar-y! Too bad in only comes in classic styling...

New Star model, soon soon soon!!!
Hmmm, intriguing... glimpse of dual rear shocks, and that shadow on the wall on the website, mention of "less is more"...I don't think this will come in classic styling. But it does look like an american launch, so may be a yank only model.

I know its a scooter but....
Is that literally a hairdryer engine? Kinda cute though...

Redbridge Roundabout - nearly took his mirror home as he don't need it...
Ok, but you could see what he was trying to do (he was signalling all the way). You should have let him through and duck to his right.

Too close for comfort
Ah, the ol' "I have zero spacial awareness, so I'll drive a big estate car" chestnut. Because I'm assuming they saw you. If they didn't they need to get a brain scan.

Downsizing from XVS1300 to XVS950
She's certainly a beaut! Might I suggest adding either a Cobra or a Vance & Hines slip on exhaust to your list of extras? So she can sound the part too?

Downsizing from XVS1300 to XVS950
They mount the same place as the boards. Remove the boards and you can replace them with either aftermarket pegs or perhaps OEM pegs for the dragstars (you'd have to check with a Yam dealer). Best to go with aftermarket ones specifically designed for the 950. Check www.customcruisers.com or www.metriccruisers.com.
