    I do! 8)
  2. I dunno....I reckon I'm one of the very few Bikers who really look after a chain. I've seen R1's, Gixxer Thous etc with bone dry chains. And when I mention it to the fashion victim....sorry, I mean rider, they always say..."I don't bother with that cos it makes my bike dirty!"

WTF is this....an episode of "Allo Allo"?

PB has always been the same Alan....but now you're experienced enough to realise that it's a comic for nobheads.
  6. Change of plan, and we decided to go to Llansteffan on the South coast of Carmarthenshire as we've got friends there. The XT lapped up the narrow single lane roads/tracks there, that's it's type of terrain. Nice round trip of 140 miles. The day was only marred by the usual sportsbike heroes who seems to make a habit of accelerating at oncoming cars on the wrong side of the road. One daft twat even tried kicking at the oncoming cars!
  7. .....you bloody lightweights! I'm just off to style and profile over the Brecon Beacons! 8) Going anywhere guys?

I can confirm that my ass was fine after the spill in denim...apart from the big crack in it!

    Cheers Alan! 8)

Can't agree on the Jeans though Baz...that's what I wear most of the time. Old School habits die hard. But I can tell you that I once hit the road at 110 wearing jeans and only had you a few scratches on my ass. Good quality denim is very tough.

But a lot of Bikers who are using Wales as a racetrack on weekends have crossed the border to do it Moz. In 2001 there were 15 fatalities on bikes in the Dyfed Powys area. 13 of those were from outside Wales....and ALL of them were on sportsbikes. These guys are used to built up urban areas, and when they come here they go crazy on narrow, bumpy agricultural roads that they don't know. We're used to mountains of slushy cowshit across rooads, and we expect to see Farmers reversing tractors out of fields on blind bends.....but they don't.

I said a few weeks ago that Bikers are now more at risk from other bikes than from cars. You should see the roads round here on a sunny Sunday....it's like Mad Max with Rossi wannabees on the wrong side of the road everywhere.
  14. Pete replied to JohnR6's post in a topic in The Bar
Yes we understand that Moz....if you have a family, a car is a necessity. I've had cars nearly as long as I've had bikes, but never had any interest in them. They're just a tool to do a job AFAIC.

This was in the other thread Moz, and I've replied there. But I would add that you're right about the assholes on bikes these days.....it used to be a "Brotherhood", now it's a Fashion Parade.

We're Bikers through and through Moz...by our very nature we don't like cars and have no interest in them. My bikes get wiped down if a fly lands on them...while my car goes through a cheap car wash once a year...if it's lucky.

I was talking about the Stannah Stairlift....I'm considering the GT version!

Besides the Sheep Gazette and the Bovine Chronicle....only MCN. I was a big fan of "Bike" in the 70's when Mark Williams (he's da man) was Editor. I believe Mark was last heard of in the US doing time for drug smuggling or something. He's the guy who brought "attitude" to bike mags, cos prior to him all the rags were pretty much from the "cloth cap, side valve" era. Your father will remember him Alan.
  19. I'd like to have seen twin discs on the front though.
  20. Pete replied to axl's post in a topic in Naked
I'm sure I saw one of the mags say it was twin pot. Probably MCN fucked up again. But braking power is still well down from the original Fazer brakes which were lifted from the R1....and they were amazing!
  21. The pipes are more at the side than underneath dibey. It's only the end of the pipes that are under part of the seat.
  22. Pete replied to axl's post in a topic in Naked
    I think it's hideous...like a cross between a TDM and a Hornet. Severe downgrading on brakes too....from 6 to 2 pot calipers!
  23. Pete replied to liquidcooled's post in a topic in The Bar
Agree Alan...wonder what they think about the state of this country now though!
  24. Found a good article with specs etc. http://www.motoring.co.za/index.php?fArtic...=901&fSetId=381

The guy was probably thinking "I'll let these muppets stay in front so they can make fools of themselves by talking shit on the Net."
