I'm 2 up on the XT 90% of the time. It's not a problem providing your pillion is someone you're intimate with!

We all make buying errors axl...but take my advice....get a test ride on an XT, and then tell me that you didn't have the most fun on a bike in years.

The FJ's a great bike....one of the best Yam motors of all time.

You wanna put fun back into biking? Get an XT! 8)

Wise move to go and get a standard axl. Damn sight easier to live with, especially as you get older.

Yeh.....and you could all do a synchronised "Zit Squeeze!" Sorry....just taking the pus! 8)

Too much information Alan! You're not doing our "over 50" XT riders image any good! We'll just have to put it down to your Michael Portillo "experimenting" period. And FFS don't mention that plastic bag business!

Great news.....looks like the "downsizing" of motorcyclists is starting! 8)

I did say that I wouldn't buy one Baz. 8) If I was looking for that sort of thing it would have to be a TDM.
  10. Here's a point! I've argued with many Internet Assclowns on their perception of what motorcycling is all about. They always say it's about speed. But it's nothing to do with speed. And anybody who thinks it is, is into bikes for the wrong reason, and has totally missed the plot. You want speed and thrills? Ride Nemesis at Alton Towers or the Big One in Blackpool all day....that'll give you all the buzz you need. One word sums up motorcycling to me: FREEDOM!
  11. Notice the angle of the clip ons on all of Jarno's bikes? Very radical!

You got it Alan. TBH they were a lot heavier than I thought and they don't look as good in the flesh as they do in photos. As you would expect from Suzuki, the build quality and general finish wasn't exactly top notch. And the panelling at the front of the tank is bloody huge...it just doesn't look in proportion. Very comfortable though, and the dash is superb. But even though it's supposed to be a kind of dual sport, as far as I can see it's just a road bike with a trailie type exhaust. And I don't want to go back to a bike that feels like a road bike, cos I'm having too much fun with the XT. Don't think they're selling very well either, so expect some major discounting late in the year. I think they're £4999 now...but I bet they'll be down to about £4300 when they need to clear them. And TBH, at that price they'd be a snip!

I SAT on a Suzuki today! A brand new one in South Wales Superbikes (Newport) actually...and I quite liked it! Any idea what it was?
  14. Very droll Alan...I can see that you're being greatly influenced by me, particularly like your avatar. 8) Got the James Dean/Graham Bonnet haircut yet? 8)

You crazy kids would all ride too fast for me.

    ....Julian Clary and Dale Winton?
  17. Yeh but you're not here Scott...you're over there with Tym.
  18. That's it you see....anything could happen. Only last week I nearly ploughed into a troupe of performing penguins. And even worse, one of them was carrying what looked to be a young baby and a fluffy kitten.

We can't see how buxom you are!

Girlies on R1's? Barefoot and pregnant you lot should be!
  21. Don't worry monty, compared to me and Alan you're a nipper! Anyway, most of these guys today have done more mileage on Internet Forums than they've ever done on the road.
  22. Yes, you are monty. Face it, your best days are behind you now. 8)
  23. You gotta stop reading my mind Alan. Those of us who were around in the 60's and 70's are still doing what we've always done. We tend to be viewed as a bit odd cos we don't conform to the modern stereotype......but we've never changed. It's motorcycling that has changed, and not for the better either.

Not sure about that axl...I think your worst moment was buying those ears!
  25. Yeh we got em all here Tym! Multitudes of Rossi wannabes dressed like Darth Vadar, Harley RUB's, mullet headed tattooed streetfighter riders, Beemer owners wearing leather braces looking like Bavarian Bier Kellar waiters, rich Wingers with stereo's, tv's etc. Everybody soooooo wants to belong. Course there a few exceptions to this who ride and wear what they want......people like me, liquidcooled, XT Alan, and the legendary Fastfitter. In the case of what they wear it's particularly true in FF's case.
