Does Life REALLY begin at 40?
Absolutely! Bazz...don't come crying to me when you wake up and find a Mullet on your head, and start battling with urges to watch NASCAR, while listening to "Achy Breaky Heart" on the Hi-Fi!! 8)

Getting Ready For Winter Riding
Actually I did go out a few times last Winter on the old Divvy 6 that I had as a rat bike. As you say Alan...deserted roads, and Rhayader was like a ghost town compared to the Summer chaos.

Getting Ready For Winter Riding
Yes you're so right Darren. Obviously 70's rain was so different from 21st Century rain in terms of wetness. In fact, me and Ren went riding last Xmas with the roads full of snow and ice. Ask him whether he thinks I can hack it in treacherous conditions. Cos like swimming, riding a bicycle, and sticking your face in a fan....you never forget! 8)

Favourite Road
That 400 miles you've done must have been a steep learning curve then.

Getting Ready For Winter Riding
I did it everyday from 71-79 and learnt all I need to know. It wasn't fun then...and it won't be fun now. And that's why I keep a piece of shit £400 car in the drive for.

My town hit it big
Here's a good one! I delivered the XT yesterday to the dealer in Haverfordwest (90 miles away) so I'm now bikeless till 1st September. Anyway, ran into an old mate of mine there and he was telling me that he'd taken a new Triumph on a demo run. He got about 20 miles into the countryside (where mobiles don't work) and the bike broke down! So he had to leave it at the side of the road and hitchhike back to the dealers...took him most of the day to get back! He's decided to stick with his Transalp!

I know there's no excuse for Suzuki ownership, BUT....
Looking at that one and the faired alongside each other, there's quite a difference. The Limited doesn't have the frame painted the same colour as the bike like the others. Cos I reckon that looks a bit naff, like a cheap streetfighter job. Black gloss frames rule in Oldschool. Plus, it's got the tasteful logo rather than "Suzuki" splattered all over it. Which is a definite benefit. And I reckon the GSX-R colour scheme with the white tailpiece looks pretty good, compared to the bland one colour for EVERYTHING on the standard. Also the Limited is more expensive than the standard, while not costing me any more. So it will have a higher resale value as well as standing out from the rest. The wife also reckoned that the GSX-R fairing on the S model made it look too much like a sportsbike from the front. That's not good! Oldschool Rules OK! 8)
