Do it yourself apart from the carbs and valves....much cheaper.

    Motad?

Keep the garage door shut! 8) Smooooooth is the key.....ideally never using the brake unless to come to a stop. When you can go for 50 miles through various types of roads without touching a brake, then you're smooth. Stay behind a bike cop and that's what they're like.
  7. Seat gets a bit hard after a while, but other than that they're fine.

Great on those roads with the XT....bloody nightmare with a Divvy 9 though.

They all tap a bit especially when cold. May be an idea to get the valves checked, carbs balanced, and an oil and filter change.

The final scene where the main character gets killed was really funny. It was so obviously a badly made rubber dummy....reminded me of the rubber shark in the original Batman movie in 66.

OK....here's a question! In the dreadful 79/80 bike movie "Silver Dream Racer" starring David Essex.....WHO was the racer who actually rode the bike in the film as David Essex's character? Got killed racing a couple of years later BTW.

Go and visit Tym while you're there. Let him know you're going first, cos he has a habit of running round the property firing his guns at will. And will's not happy about it.
  19. Actually they're geared quite high so unless someone wants to wheelie then it won't happen.

This isn't Gore Gallery or rotten.com. If you want to view stuff like that then go over there. We're Yamaha riding motorcyclists, not fucking sickos.

    Don't ride fast...do what I do....ride smoooooth! 8)
  23. Your MX experience does stand you in good stead...I always reckon that offroad stuff improves your abilities and machine skills. It's only 48-50bhp so it's not fast, but it is a big weight increase to what you're used to. I'd try and ride as many bikes as you can and see what suits you....you need to be reasonably tall for one though. That's not to say that a shorter person can't ride one, it's just that it helps if you are around the 6' mark.
  24. Last time I hit the deck on the street was '78, previous time before that was '73....so my record speaks for itself. 8)
  25. Why would you expect more from that size engine? It's not designed to be a sportsbike. And dropping it? It's me and Alan you're talking about here...don't happen in our world mate. 8)
