Twistedmetal has hit the deck!
TBH those bends can be taken a lot quicker than your bike is capable of. You probably weren't going that quickly, but the sharpness of the bend caught you out. I suspect you panicked, and then target fixated in the direction you were heading, rather than where you needed to go to exit the bend. It's a classic novice mistake, we've all done it. Remember this tip....if you're approaching a bend, always get in a lower gear. This will drop your speed, keep the bike solid, and will give you the acceleration to exit smoothly. Rule is....SLOW in.....FAST out!

Be critical of your riding Darren. Don't look at other things like wind, road conditions etc. You can't change those situations, but you can adapt your riding to take those circumstances into account. Relive in your mind EXACTLY what you did, and figure out what you did wrong. Cos if somebody comes off a bike with no other vehicle involved it's down to the rider. Mechanical failure causing a crash is very rare. Only by analysing exactly what you did, and thinking about what you should have done, will you learn from it. Cos unless you learn from this experience then you'll repeat it again.

Must be have been a young man's dream Darren....being rescued by an attractive lady on a LeMans. You should have insisted on mouth to mouth!

Yamaha 750 triple 1970's
TBH the XS750 was one of the WORST bikes Yamaha ever made. I'm sure one of the others can advise, but you will need to be more specific about what you want to know. Get some photos up of it's present condition too.

Twistedmetal has hit the deck!
Here's a few shots of Twisty's DT50 in my garage. Some scratched plastics, and needs a new mirror and handlebars from what I can see.

Twistedmetal has hit the deck!
TBH it was a group effort Alan. Mandy on the LeMans did the most cos she was at the scene. She phoned Alan who went and got the bike, and I just stored the thing and spoke to his mother. But it was definitely an "OldSchool" to the rescue scenario.

Interesting point here! When Twisty fell off today and his bike was on it's side and him laid out....a few bikes rode past and saw it. Did they stop to help him? NO! And you can guess the type of "Bikers" they were can't you?

Twistedmetal has hit the deck!
Yeh he was on his own Alan. Don't think he'd have had much chance keeping up with the likes of a Guzzi LeMans, ZX10 etc. Bikes just scratched plastics and bent bars as far as I can see. But the AA will recover it to Black Mountain Yamaha and they can check it out.

Twistedmetal has hit the deck!
Latest update....his mother just phoned me now. Apparently it's a straight break in his wrist, so it won't require surgery as such. However he's been taken into Theatre for them to reset it under a general anaesthetic and he'll be kept in overnight. So I should have another update tomorrow.
