The Psychology of Speed
Calm down N-Tart. All you ladies have special dispensation to wear tight leathers and assume the "first day in prison" position! In fact, it's positively desirable in my book! 8) And if you're honest about it...nothing looks more ridiculous than a fat, bald, sweaty, beer-gutted middle aged man trying to wedge his gut into a one piece. Then sitting on his bike with his big fucking darby flopped all over the tank like a beached whale. Now...nubile young things like yourself look great...centrefold material I'd say. 8)

The Psychology of Speed
You're right...I'm so jealous of sports bike riders. I know I'm missing out on dressing up like Darth Vadar and assuming the "first day in prison position". And I really want to sweat my guts out in a one piece leather with a hump on my back...not to mention accidentally pissing down my leg everytime I need to visit the loo cos my zip doesn't go low enough. And nothing like having to do a 9 point turn every time you try and turn round or park the bike. Wrist ache is cool too, not to mention the pain in trying to turn your neck to do a lifesaver. I've got to get one...cos I soooo want to belong. Eminem is popular too.....I better get into him as well.

Huge dualsport market in Europe. But over here you go to any showroom and what do you find? Sportsbikes everywhere! Is it possible to find a showroom in the UK that doesn't have a used CBR6 in it?

If Only......
The XT brakes are not exactly inspiring....but those little drums are bloody frightening!

Moonie was great....what a star!

Absolutely Alan. If you examine the logic behind buying a mega machine.....there isn't any. If you regularly did trackdays, then that would be a justifiable reason to some extent. But it's an awful lot of money to risk destroying in an environment like that, where technically you're not insured.

Not with knobblies and little drum brakes you won't! 8)

What do Ride say about it Alan?

Just when I think Darren can't say anything more more dimwitted than he's already said, he surpasses himself!

I'm a big fan of great vocalists. My alltime favourite is Paul Rodgers, and others that I really rate are Ronnie James Dio, Jimmy Barnes, Joe Lyn Turner, Steve Perry, Jimi Jamison, Rob Rock, Lou Gramm, Don Dokken, and Graham Bonnet with his own material cos he fucks up everybody elses. Bon Scott wasn't a great vocalist as such...but he had more charisma, humour, and stage prescence than anybody before or since. Guitarists? IMO nobody has ever equalled Hendrix...but people that I do like are Steve Vai, Slash, Neal Schon, Eric Clapton, George Lynch, and Chris Impellitteri. Drums? Carl Palmer, Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, and Cozy Powell. Bass? One man stands shoulders above the rest....Jack Bruce. Greatest voice there's ever been? Sam Cooke!

Bulletproof motor in the XR...but it is more of a dirtbike than the XT. And at your time of life, you don't want Gay accusations Scott!

The thing is, even if you only had the XT for 6 months, you'd be a much better rider for having had one. I got my first trail bike when I was 21, an XL125 (I also had my Kwak 500 at the same time). And it was a great learning experience TBH. Over the years I've had others...TS185, 2 x SP370's, DT400 etc, and they were all great learning tools.

You can get restrictor kits for them as I understand.

There's not that many about Alan. South Wales Superbikes in Newport have FOUR 02/03 for sale....might be a bit far though! The first thing you'll notice is how high you are and it feels as if the clocks are underneath you rather than in front. When you open it up you'll notice that not a lot happens really, and when you do get up to 70, it feels like 130! But get it on tight, bumpy twisties....and nail the throttle....and wherever you point it...it goes. You wouldn't believe the exotic machinery that's been taken to school by this 48bhp single! 8)

I would get a ride on one and see what you think Alan. You'll either love it or hate it....there's no in between. You'll probably have to spend about £2.5K for an 01/02. My 03 with 1600 miles was priced at £3299....but it only actually stood me £2.7K cos of the markup I made on the little Divvy.

XT on Covert Operations!
Sounds like good times there Alan....before we all got old and life got complicated. And Darren, it's in the big layby at the top.

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
As I understand it, it involves wiring both headlights on...but it's advisable to have a relay switch fitted so it can be disabled to pass an MOT. I think you can get the full info on FOCU.

Divvy's going for a Fazer!
Good aren't they? But if you've got an earlier model the lights are shit. There is a fix for it though.

XT on Covert Operations!
Keep an eye out for those bloody stupid sheep though.

XT on Covert Operations!
Here's a shot taken today on the Eppynt Mountain range between Brecon and Builth. The idyllic setting in the background is a bit misleading though....cos the rest of the region is an MOD Weapons Testing Area. So I had to be a bit careful where I took photos in case I got arrested for spying!

I'm on the lookout......
I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole Alan. All their secondhand stuff has always been ludicrously overpriced, and I've yet to see a good thing said about them. They smack of car dealers to me...and I don't like that.

On holiday
You're in Oz? Pay a visit to Bon's grave for me! That's one of the places I would go to if I was touring the world you know. Along with James Dean's grave, Route 66, and Aushwitz. God....that makes me sound weird!
