  1. it is a shame, i have had textile clothing from them in the past and it did well, i will be keen to chekc out their prices when the sale goes on, just a shame cos it wa the only proper motorcycle gear shop we had locally, and its not the same buying stuff online when you cant try it on
  2. anyone ever had brake disks skimmed? needing my project bikes brakes tidied up as there is plenty of life in them, rear not even been used, but due to sitting have became a wee bitty rusty dont want to get the grit blasted cos it'll make a rought surface finish so was looking at getting them skimmed but have heard a few horror stories like disks warping ect anyone got any advice/stories/experience ? Matt
  3. will go more indepth about the strip this weekend, but this is all the photos i could get my hands on at the moment, must say, that bike is so simple and the design/layout is really well thought out, its no wonder they still use the same principles on the new guzzi's peace out !
  4. still stripping . . . muST SAY, i do like my bikes a bit like my women . . . . naked litreally a few hours later and engine back on the bench ready to strip, and clean
  5. this tank was used whilst i was tinkering about with the carbs and throttle to get it kinda right, and this is pretty much what she looked like before strip down
  6. this is my idea for cafe, but im goign to try not to get distracted by that before my resto is done got a new set of stainless bars, as the old ones had perished, so im gonna get them powder coated gold with the wheel to keep for the conversion
  7. Update starting trying to get the exhaust into a semi decent shape just for mock up - new stainless steel pipes will be bought after, but chrome the current ones will be used just to test and prior to finish,. started off with K-RUST was good, but taking to slow so i used the angle grinder came out not bad actually, might keep them and spray them black incase i decide to go for the cafe racer conversion ( planning on doing it so i dont actually needs to change the current frame, so i would just put a new seat unit and handle bars onto it, and it would be kinda cafe'd?) only problem i has with this exhust was the clamps sheering - bit of a pain in the arse, but doesnt really matter much when you have a grinder
  8. Did the shop owner not manage to track whoever it was that sold them it? i've had a few offroaders that my local garage wudnt take as P/X as they never had V5's
  9. sorry to dissapoint, as per other things got in the way - will see if my brother is kind enough tonight as to let me use his laptop - myn got destroyed when i came of my bike :/
  10. hey guys, not been updating this very much lately, so i thought i would drop in for a quick update ! bikes current condition is stripped, ready for frame, wheels and various other bits n bobs to get sent away and powedercoated i mad ea good start on the wiring, and at the minute it is all off the bike, inc all components in 95%(ish) completion. will get some piccys up this weekend, to show what i've been doing the last few months, progress had kinda slowed down due to work and other projects ( got the old bsa b40 on the road :D ) but will be on it like a car bonnet this weekend, and hopefully get back into the swing of it ! peace out . . for now

F**kign raging ! anyone gomme som advice on what to do? said to the boy i wud phone back at the end of the day to decide if i want to accept the 6 quid or not. if i kent it was gonna be that prive i wud have bought the ane of ebay with a 12 month warrenty ( hopefully selling the bike in sept when my insurance is out) wont directly name the breakers on here . . . but its one in bentley, doncaster . . . . . on ings road . . . should i phone credit card company and ask them to block the charge ?
  16. would this be what is meant by the fuel pump solenoid ? my fuel pump stopped working yesterday and i cant afford to buy a new one this month :/
  17. any luck with this ? my fuel pump on my xj exploded yesterday . . .i have no bike :'(
  18. I used to use muck of, but found it overpriced and over rated, you can buy pretty much the exaxt same stuff in poundland for . . .£1 haha the contence of whats in it is pretty much exactly the same
  19. aye, autosul does wonders on corrosion, was tempted to get the engine soda blasted, but i think i'll just stick with the elbo grease and do it myself old man suggested oven pride, or similar oven/bbq cleaner, have used it on my silencer before, to clean all the carbon ect out from the inside but never used it as a cleaner for the engine
  20. hey, Planning a super clean of my bike this weekend as its getting a bit manky. main problem is the engine - as the bike is used as a commuter its does get a bit grotty, anyone recomment any good products? have previosly used simple green, and gunk ( just the brush one) but think i might try the foam one this weekend if i can find it in the local shops. after that, probs put a bit of solvol autosol onto the meant to be shiny parts and go from there. whats everyones preffered products?
  21. unfortunatly there is no such thing, you can get the kit for around £90, google "cheap33bhprestrictor" or something like that, but according to the local fuzz here, (aberdeen) you need to get a certificate, which isnt provided by that company, you cud get one and get a dyno showing its only producting 33bhp, but even still thats not 100% safe. i was arround £230 for the restrictor and the cert, which is complete gash - but as it is a nacecity, they can ramp the price up cos at the end of the day it still needs to get bought
  22. same thing happens to me, no idea why
  23. My advice would beintroducing your self to the website, then people will be more enclined to reply to you.
  24. speaking to some of the other bikers at my work, and it turns out one of them is gonna lose his licence. had 9 points for previous affences, and got cought at the weekend usign his phone while on his motorbike! what a tool. to top it all off, his wife was in the back of the bike, and he was texting his bit on the side, and he ended up not getting to see her. ( nae sure if he was joking about that bit or not thow . . .) Matt
  25. personally, if in the uk a helmet was not a legal requirment, i think most people would still wear one - we in scotland, especially, need something to keep the rain out our eyes ! i have an open face helmet that i use on my older bikes, like the BSA B40, and on my xj if im just nipping down to the shops or that, but i would never wear it for going any distance more than a few miles. same with gloves. i would love to experience what its like elsewhere, where helmets are not required, but i wud limit myself to a scooter, or a cruiser - deffo not a sports bike.
