Can anyone tell the best place to get these for a 2003 yamaha dt 125 r? I heard that genuine ones are a no no, as they've now made then smaller, I'm running a full dep pipe so is it worth fitting a upgraded one of some sort? Thanks! Josh

yea sorry, he did have the throttle fully open. good to hear that, i was worried i'd have to rebuild her! well i live on the moors and do alot of off roading, but when the guy took the plug out i noticed it was very oily. so could that be a problem?? thanks! josh

hi guys, i've recently had some issues with my new bike. keeps spluttering on the power band and when you try to maintain your speed! i've changed the plug for a 8 instead of the 9, new air filter and new 2 storke oil. i ran it down to my local bike shop today and asked them to give it a quick compression test. it was only a young lad who did so was a bit uncertain if he knew what the comp should be! this is how he did it, and the results:- ingnition on, 3 pulls on the throtle. then 3 kicks where it reached 140 psi. then 3 more where it made 160 psi was the correct method and are those good results?? i'm certain a red up on here it should be around 150 psi on a new engine? btw the bikes a 2003 dtr with 13,000. never been rebuilt any help would be great! thanks josh

hi agian paul, i tried the new plug and it made no difference. they didn't have any BR9ES's so he gave me a BR8ES and said it would run better with the dep can? it hasn't got any better or worse! so, i went to a mate and he rode the bike and he suggested that i clean/change the air filter. so me and a friend tried to clean it, but it just fell apart!! i did give it a quick plip up the road with no filter and i went really well! not 100% but at least 90%, still spluttered a little but nowhere near as bad! so with the no filter we tried making up one out of sponge but the bike wouldn't run properly, then we but a cloth over the inlet under the seat but it wouldn't run, this was only temp so i could get it to the bike shop tomorrow. so i'm hoping i can pick up a filter tomorrow and it'll all be ok?? another thing i've noticed is that there's a very faint knocking nosie coming from the head, my friend said it's normal but i'm a bit unsure? i've made a video of it running if you take a quick look? any help would be great, as i'm getting very worried now thanks, josh i think i put my original thread in the wrong section. sorry about that.

hi!! just bought a dtr125 2003. there's no pattern just does it as and when it likes, some times when pulling away or when your in 3rd gear reaching 8rpm! always random, the previous owner did say it hasn't been serviced for a while. so tomorrow i'll give her a full serivce! it also has a aftermarket exhuast on it, so would i need to check that it's jetting ok? but surely the previous owner would of sorted this as it's been owned by the guy from new! and by the looks of the exhuast it's been on there a few years! thanks josh

hi everyone!! i'm josh, 22. just bought a yamaha dtr 125. 2003 with 12,000 miles for £1120 need some bits sorting out so i thought i'd sign up for some advice on these (i'll make sure to post them in the correct sections ) mainly bought it because i'm fed up with the cost of running a car, and it's more practical when you live on dartmoor (devon) cheers!! EDIT: oh, when i say 'almost' i had a scooter when i was 16, so i have a little experiance on how to hold you balance, lol!!
