    No bfore id take the bike up the road and in every gear id get to 3-4 thousand revs and then the revs would shoot up but i wouldnt b goin faster . Now after draining some oil as i had two much in i can drive normal and reach 6-7 thousand revs bfore it would happen again . Ots like a power valve kicking in without the power if u get me

    Drained sum of the engine oil out down to the correct level and now its not over reving till i reach higher revs ????

    Well just back from a week in scotland and the new part has arrived . Tell me 2wheels do i need to greese it or anyting bfore i fit it ? Cant rember how it all goes back togetor now . Haha

    Well with a bit of a fight with a screw that wpuldnt cum out and tools flying everywer o got tje part out . Mew part orderd so just a waiting game now ... will give me time.to.clean that aera up anyway

    Ok behind the sproket caseing is a lot of gunk . But ye ounce i remove that . Then undo the cable . Un hook the spring then undo two small screws the hole piece should come off . Then should i keep tje back part that the spring and cable attach to and just replace the front part . Do they come apart ?

    Its a 2002 with 20k miles on the bike i bought it in jan everyting was perfect til i done a service . Should of kept my 2000 fazer that never gave me any trouble . Thanks 2wheels il let u no asap

    That number 20 part . If u c the 3 metal over laps there not there in mine .hense the shards of metal . Do u no what tould have caused this to happen . Its an expensive little part but needs done . So u rekon my clutch is ok ? And just so i no . The damaged part is making my clutch stay open a bit which is like im double clutching all the time ??

    Also ive just noticed i hav a bit more oil in it . Its up to top of the sight glass a bit above the full dot would this matter ??

    Behind the bolt there is a metal ring that looks to b in bad shape behind that i c ball bearings

    Ok 2wheels . There is 3-4 mill slack on the clutch lever . There is the word jaso on the oil container . I cannot move clutch lever with small finger and its a struggle to pull it in with middle finger ... i cannot move rear wheel wen bike is in first . And i removed the rubber cover nxt to were clutch cable is and loosend bolt but the screw wond move there is small pieces of metal tho ??

    ok 2wheels . and sorry dt i no u didnt say it was the clutch but from all the advice ive got it sounds like a slippy clutch and ur right i googled it there and there is a lot more involed than a car clutch so maybe i would b better off leaving it in to someone who no.s what there doin . Bit rip off garages and there shocking prices is what made me become a car mechanic many moons ago . but aparr from motorcross im a newby to the road bikes and id b lost without the advice and help i get from everyone on this site so thanks again !

    Right im goin have ago at changeing the clutch myself . Could anyone recomend a good clutch to use and were to buy ? .i can do a clutxh in a car so it cant be that hard . And as for tje garage prices . Madness

    Thanks for the advise . Yes u hav a point it only happens on first start in the morning . When it warms up its grand and even after i stop for a wile then start again it doesnt happen . Would it cause any danage if i keep drivin it ?

    At the start my clutch lever was loose so i ajusted it till it was tight now i loosend it up again . How can i tell if theres free play . Also i used the same oil in my older 2000 fazer and never had any problems thanks

    Write i ajusted the cable gav it a bit of slack and still slippin and over reving . Only when the bike is cold tho?? I recently fitted a k&n air filther and done an oil change it was fine bfore that .would that have anyting to do with it or is a new clutch needed ??

    I think i tightened the cable two much to the point there is no slack at the lever i ajusted it there and il test it out in the morning fingers crossed its just the cable and not the clutch u learn as u go i supose . Thanks for the reply

    Ok after ajusting the clutch cable the bike is selecting every gear now but now when drivin the bike cold when i pick up the revs the revs shoot up fast and the bike roars but i dont go any faster . Kinda sounds like a power valve on a scrambler . But when it warms up its fine . Im thinking the clutch is slippin or the clutch cabel is sticken and needs oiled .
