so on the 28th of may i drove from ipswich to dover (in my Trusty fiat ducato 1.9d,no turbo,50 mph,3 hours each way... plus side it did the whole journey on 45 quid ) parted with the money and drove back home to ipswich. i'd found my ol toy

back in the tail end of may,i managed to find my old dtr. after 8 years of looking it turned up on ebay.... after some haggling between me,the owner and what turned out to be a bike breaker it was mine for the princely sum of £375 it was mine again

sounds awesome cant find anything other than guides for decibel (96-100),the bit you do need to be legal is the stamped british standard code.... think it was on the bit you cut off dont know hard it is to re-stamp it? or to engrave with a dremel?

yer they all fit fella. dt/r,dt/re and even the dt/x (only the front forks,wheels and brakes changed on the x) only difference on the newer ones is that the bearing on the bottom was replaced with headed inserts (cheaper to produce :@) ) good luck with it!

i think i'm beggining to realise.... lol

poor thing had been used as a field bike so it was neglected,battered and abused.... didn't look like it had any tlc since i rebuilt it last worst of all,some egit had lopped the last 3 inches off the back of the frame to fit an aftermaket yz rear mudguard... lots to be getting on with lol

hi everyone! I'm dave. after tracking down my old dt 125 r from my "yoof" i thought i'd restore it back to its former glory (second time i'll have done this,can't belive i've come back for more :@) ) its at this point i decided to join up,many heads make like thinking (or summit like that :@) ) will start a resto thread soon,doubt it'll be as good as nev's though...
