Still got plenty more to use ha ha, just need to find a use for it. Just need to beef up the welds on the chain as I've only tacked them in place at the mo.

Bit more done today and I'm quite happy with it. When welding the links of the chain I became even more impressed with Indian Larries bike that he made with the entire frame made out of chain. Here are some pics Found a use for the toaster ha ha Mud guard fitted Chain sissy bar
  4. That's a sexy looking bike slice! I've always had a soft spot for Enfields (not Harry Enfield before you start)

Thanks for the advise mate, the area I welded was the holes I put in to fit my old mud guard and is still sold with no rot. The pin holes are from me filling the holes with weld and really I should have done what you said and plated them but guess you learn by mistakes. Just been out there again for an hour and now there is no pin holes and all looks hunky dory it was just a matter of getting the wire feed speed correct. Out there again tomorrow and hoping to get the chain welded and the rear mud guard nearly complete.
  6. Well personally I think that foamy guy is totally fridged! I always come onto him and try my best to get him to suck my dolla and he ain't interested. Think you should all stay away from him.

  8. Romans did it with out heat lol Bladdy Romans!!
  9. Cruiser = fat, lazy, slow. A bike which you can see the cows in the fields and the totty at the bus Stop. Sports bike = out right fun, fast and nimble. Cannot see any thing bar blurs and startled cows. Hot totty laugh at you in leather all in ones sat in fetal position. So if you want to go round corners fast buy a sporty bike,if you don't and buy a cruiser then don't bitch about your choosing of such bike.

Finally got hold of my mates mig welder yesterday so last night I got trained by YouTube and had a stab at my first ever time of welding. Ok it's prob not 100% gravy but the holes are gone, no warping or over heating and my crap shack isn't on fire lol Still need to finish them off as there is still a very small hole that I missed and only showed up after I grounded the welds back

What the holy heck did i just watch!?
  12. Its strange really as my XVS 125 had 35000 on the clock and i had none of these issues at all, ok Granted the rust part is true but i only had it on the cage that supports the rear mud guard, nothing as bad as you had. I put that down to poor house keeping on the previous owners part, if you ride the bike in all weathers and fail to wash the shit off after then thats when rust gets in. Never had a problem with getting it round corners as i didn't try and ride it like and R1 and more like a crusier i found it very nice in the lanes. The chrome is shit and im not a lover of chrome but as its a 125 they need to make them buy-able to 17 year olds with no money so if they gave it the best things every then they will be out of the price range of their target market. Sorry to hear about your dramas but save up and get bigger and better, the 650 is a cracking bike!
  13. Looking really good man, those rear indicators (or blinkers in your lingo) are the ones im after for my bike. Some reason i cant see any of your pics here are work so i can only see your vids but so far its coming on great

Yer that toaster i thought was a fuel tank did cost £30, shamefull i know. Um.............some people wouldn't really call it "some seat" nor even close to just "Seat" a squirel thats been run over by a lorry is thicker than my seat and the only real padding on it, is the leather. I got it in chicargo and its hand tooled with a malteese cross and some skulls, yet another one of those spur of the moment Ebay purchases.

Rat Bob, you are a FUCKING STAR!!! only thing is tho.......................now i have to spend £400 with out the wife finding out. This may have to be a next year job as so far the money i spent so far goes some thing like this: £520 crack and con rods £177 Gaskets £120 Fuel tank, fuel tap and cap £30 (toaster) £90 Jammer Z bars £40 handle bar grips £30 Harley throttle tunnel £100-£250 powder coat (soon) £100-150 stainless steel spokes (soon to buy) £100 Indicators (soon to buy) £50 number plate bracket (soon to buy) £30 ignition barrel (soon to buy) £5 push start buttom (soon to buy) £40 small head light (soon to buy) £200 hot shot coils and new performance CDI (soon to buy) £300 Solo seat GRAND TOTAL OF £2082 SO FAR So as you can see this thing is costing me a pretty penny and i can see the wife wanting me to buy her some thing soon so adding another £400 to the bill aint going to be easy.

Well that plans i have for a Vmax is to get a crashed one that still has a good working motor then get a custom one off frame and go from there so technically wouldn't be scaring one ha ha. The XS650 has been done to death and rightly so as its a cracking bike to do, but its now hard to come up with "new" ideas on them and plus they are lacking in the performace section. Same with a Triumph Bonnie and not to mention that they are holding there value very well over here. Well im sure only time will tell on what i end up with later in life, but at the moment im with Betty haha Hope the ride was a good one
  17. Made i chuckle too. thing is tho i seen that this was a light hearted question to start with and these threads are so much more fun / funny when its a serious and genuine question. ha ha Elvis, sadly the acid within HP sauce is no match to the performance gains of adding reggae reggae sauce into the barrels, that stuff is like rocket fuel but be warned you will melt the berrels and piston and teppets and the every other engine part.

Na I can't lower the back bone due to the engine so just running as it is. I maybe doing other bits n Bob's but need to think more on them before I say what they are lol. Go for it. I'd love to do a hardly Chop One day but I think if I did ever sell betty I'd be doing a V max bobber next.

Yer thats a good idea DT will look into it, i may even still have some stainless hose left over from when i done the fuel lines and breather pipes last time i rebuit her. So another idea out the window i think then ha ha. Just thought if the wires go through the bars then down through the risers you aint going to see them till the last minute but with drilling come integrity dramas and i guess would you / I trust they to hold up in and emergency stop with all that weight transfering through them. Right! onto more thinking and debating what to do to create a better Betty
  23. Glad its getting fixed mate, shocking how much damage can be done by a little knock. £2500! but if you think about the cost of a hire bike every day till yours is fixed then it soon mounts up
