Yer its got an off possition, see im all about praticality ha ha, well originally i was going to use some threaded bar and some wing nuts (coolest nuts ever made IMO) but once i put the bar through the tank and had a look before i welded i noticed that there was no way a 8mm wing nut would clear the tank so found these bonnet pin bolts and there we have it. Think ill leave the handle idea to one side for now tho mate. ha ha Right just got a quote back about some hydro dipping, asked a company to dip my rims and hubs and they came back with a price of £500 + VAT my responce was that i wanted them dipped and i didn't want them to install a work shop in my house, never got a reply back from them. where as my mate from my other forum said he aint sure on doing bike rims and hubs as he has never done them before and didn't want to cock them up btu he is doing my fuel tank for £60, bargin! but im still going to bug him to grow some balls and do my wheels for me. Today once im home from work and taken the daughter to the local indoor monkey jump about play ground thingy and he is having her afternoon nap im getting out into the cave and doing my pipes and poss clean up the welds on what ive done.
  3. Yer it was a tube light. Made my think that even tho my wife is really cool I still don't think she would let me do that ha ha

Well finally finished fitting the fuel tank last night, the first set of brackets i welded on where in such a place that once the engine and carbs where in you couldn't get the bolts in to fix the tank to the frame. So whilst digging in through the tool box i was given for a tool i came across two strange bolts that had a sleeved domed top with a hole through the top, which gave me an idea........................ They will either have a P pin through them for speedy removel for carb servicing or what not, or ill stick some small pad locks on them so Mr chav don't come along and take my fuel tank away. Still.......................ONTO THE NEXT JOB
  7. I'd go to the next town over then mate.

Well ive sent out a few e-mails to some companies and to my mate from my other forum bout hydro dipping my rims and hubs, seems like the rims will be quite hard to do and my mate seams to thing he needs to do it in halves meaning i will have a join line and the patterns wont match up. Little video of hydro dipping

Forgot about hydro dipping, got a chap on my japanese car forum that does hydro dipping.
  13. Your a complete fuck whit. Cant be assed with your petty rant any longer. grow the fuck up and piss off to a chinese bike forum. if your that fucked off with yamaha ad tis xvs range why not sell your so called heap of shit and buy a so called proper bike that will never rust and never gets a single mechanical problem.
  14. £700!? what else needs doing then bar the battery starter and that lever? are they rebuilding your whole bike or some thing? I don't see why the second hand starter wont work, its worth a go for £250 more in your pocket plus you can fit it your self and save on the labour.
  15. Im 5" 6' and the 650 draggy is fine for me and can reach the pegs fine and so can my mum so............i wouldn't say its best for a short rider as you can't really say there is a perfect bike for every one but its a damn sight safer for a short person to ride than a FJ. Cool we are getting some quallity evidance that its all bullshit.

    Wondering

Two large rocks and a packet of gravel
  17. Right foot flat to the deck, on tip toes he could get both feet down suggesting to me that is lower than the rest, if only by a bit. I highly doubt that lowering a bike effects it's speed etc to get him round corners they would have raised the foot pegs to clear the ground. But unless you our I are GP mechanics then we will never know. So now you have two woman (my Mum and bippo) against your One wonder woman.

Ha ha, well I've been trying to get her to dye it red but she said no. But think that's a good thing as doubt red wheels will look crap.
  19. Right with regards to pedrosa (i watch moto GPs all the time) how do you know his bike is not lowered? Can you actually see his bike leaning over further than all the others on the grid? Can you actually see him slid his ass etc over to One side? I've just watched 5 starts of this years races and I surly can't. And in the pits there is one pos two guys who catch the bike when he pulls up to park the bike while he/they jump on the secondary bike it's not like F1 where they can change tyres in a flash. Tell you what next time you see your wonder woman shake her hand as I'm sure she is will be competing with pedrosa next season as it sounds like she can really handle a bike much better than you or I.

Well just got a phone call back from Talon and they have quoted me £260 to have both my wheels re built with stainless spokes and once I hand them in I can have them back within a week. Jobs a gooden. Only thing now tho is that I can't think of what color to do the rims and hubs????

  23. Sorry to piss on your fire but my step dad had a Fj1200 and when my mum stuck her leg over it (well tried to) her head was close to the deck and she could only get her claf on the seat let alone get her foot on the other side onto the peg. And when she rode pillion on the Tiger she had to use a step stall to get on it. No way could she ride either of them even with stupid amounts of training etc etc. So i for one a 100% confidant that small folk should not even consider riding a big bike un less they have a death wish
