Yey!! got the front tyre on now and i slapped on the rear tyre temporally and lowered her to the floor just to see what she looked like again on her two wheels, and MY GOD! i forgot just how low she is. Pure man happy feeling moment. now i really cant wait to get her on the road! Just waiting on my new glass fuel filter and exhaust wrap to be delivered tomorrow, put oil in the shaft drive, bleed front brake, buy number plate bracket and indicators then we are ready to go.

Front tyre being fitted tomorrow got a nice Avon cobra to go on, bit strange really tho betty is a 2000 reg and the tyre I removed was a 100/90-19 venom, yet the Avon book said that 1994-2004 custom should have a 110/90-19to fit a 2.50 rim. So we done some digging and found that the 1994-2000 drag stars should have a 2.50 front rim and a 4.50 rear rim meaning that they should have the 110/90-19 tyre and the 2004 on wards bikes should have a 2.50 front and a 3.50 rear which should have 100/90-19 and is what I've got??? Very strange
  7. Bit of a shitter that man, but as they all said (and your now doing it) the van is the better option as there is still a shit load of rain coming over and the weather man last night said there is a small bit of low pressure in which they have no idea what is going to happen. Good ey! Have fun on the trip, (barstard!) and we'll look forward to some pics of you with you laying in a massive muddy bog

Yes my tap has a nut on it that i can tighten up to the bottom of the tank which more or less 'locks' it in place so i take from that and your answer then it dosen't need a gasket, (cool) i did find a 1/4" gasket from a company that im guessing would fit but it was 39p plus £5.50 P&P!!!! get fucked, aint paying that much P&P for a small O ring that cost less than a Freddo bar! I'll fit the tap this week end and chuck some petrol in her and find out if she's ok if not looks like i will be forking out £6 for a gasket.

Al the electrics are now done, just a case of sorting out the rest of it now and getting her tested and taxed. Question tho............ With the Harley Sporty tank, should / do they have a gasket on the fuel tap? mine was never supplied with one and nor can i find one on Ebay, Now im no genious but surely it should have one to stop fuel pissing all over the motor.

Yer think i will soon get some metal mud gaurds (Fenders) in the near future which will make every thing match, thing is tho i was on Ebay last night and sort of fell in love with the 1600 wild star and really really want it. But i think this year i'll ride Betty then will think about moving her on to get a bigger beast. Done some more wiring last night and im glad to report that tonight all the wiring will be done Pay day tomorrow so will be off to the tyre shop on Friday to get a front tyre so then i can roll her out of the shed to have my first proper look at her in months. then its just the little finishing touches and she's ready to go. END OF MARCH IT IS PEOPLE!!!!!!!
  14. Yer that PJ1 is cracking stuff, used that on my 125 and step dads always used it on his bikes. Where's you paint coming from then the Moon? ring them up and tell them to get a shiffty on
  15. I 'think' (dont quote me) they are an M10 or an M12 with a 1.25 pitch. Just take it off you lazy git
  16. Glad your ok Johnny, get them bars replaced asap and the indicator, the plastics can wait till you get some more money as they are just cosmetic. How are the brake and clutch levers and the steering rack stopper? (the nobbily bit that the yokes hit when on full lock) worth checking to see if they are fooked too. If your visor hit the deck and is "goosed" its more than likely your sweed catcher hit the deck too and is best to get a new one, you never know the next time you have an off your head could be relying on that one spot to save you from talking like Justin Beiber
  17. I want this one!! mega sexy!! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201402101688863/sort/recpriceascdefault/usedbikes/cc-to/300cc/cc-from/200cc/make/yamaha/page/5/postcode/ba215rq/radius/1501?logcode=p

Thing is I love the look of bare metal and when dt suggested it then that's what I had to do ha ha, the mud guards / fenders are plastic so can't get the metal look so they had to be black to match the frame and the Tank now matches the forks and shaft drive Bell housing.
  19. That's it!! Very sexy and look not so big any more.
  20. Job done! Well done man, so your just waiting on the plastics to finish her off then?
  21. Cheers for that drewpy, always good stuff there really, never really keen on buying the helmets tho as you never know how many kids or trollies have smashed them.
  22. Yer they fit really well, will look even better once the rear plastic is on them.
