Very well said cynic, this is pretty much what i said to all the bike haters on that thing called Facebook. everyone jumping on mine and my mates back trying to get us to stop riding because of this but as this video very clearly shows is that this incedent was the doings of BOTH the car and bikers actions. Yes the biker was speeding and over took on a junction (Mistake No1) he then didn't roll off the throttle at the junction to reduce momentum and anticipate a car pulling out (mistake No2) plus he must have seen the car at the cross road. car driver obviously didn't stop and look (Mistake No3) and the rest is done. As said we all do it, we all have head fuck moments and yippee here we go moments which has already been said, this is why most of us ride, for the moments that make us smile / shit our selves and make our shitter clench so tight that you can feel it in your throat.

    |Well i was shown this by the wife when it was first air'd and i have to agree that this collision is a double headed sword and was both the riders and the car drivers fault both had a lack of awareness of the road and obviously the speed was a major factor. I personally do get a bit throttle happy (as will most folk) but as nieve as it sounds i do think there is a time and place for it, at junctions in give them a wide birth and stay at the speed limit (give or take a few MPH if my mind laps) I truly feel sympathy for all the family and the people involved in this event including the service personnel that where called ouot to it as its not really the type of thing you to wake up in the morning to go a do. as for the aggresive resoponses you get on the other sites Bips they must just be the manority of bikers that think the lord jebus waves out of their chocolate starfish and gives them a pat on the back, bit like the ones that want to play Son's of Anarchy like the ones i met the other night (total fucking pricks may i add)

Could always turn the shaft drive into a mill with a couple of razor blades welded on then you can carve a nice table leg out of there femur

The cheek of it, id make sure your alarm works a bit better just for when they come back (which im sure they will) you can then case them up the road for some corrective action, only a few gentle words like: "I strongly advise you not to do that again" "that is my pride and joy and you have tried to brake it" "please do not return" "your taxi is here " A baseball bat, 2x4 with nail or scaffolding pole is HIGHLY recommended whilst "correcting" these miss guided pricks

The Honda Dullville is a very good bike and my mate uses one for training (mainly DAS) but its for too tall and heavy for my back so that sort of bike is well out of the equation. Only being down trained for now and if my current jobs starts to become a real pain in the ass then i may go and do Cardington but will have to weigh up the wages side of things.

Christ i think someone needs an eye exam if they are going to follow what i do for pre ride checks or any thing more involved than just breathing for that matter.

I totally forgot about the fazer Kate, cracking sugestion (not that everyone elses wasn't) the reason im not wanting a large cc bike iKevin is that yes any bike will do the job but if i have a large bike moving a constant low speed with not much air flow to cool it down in the warmer weather soon enough some thing will eventually go "buggerd up" where as with a smaller cc thus smaller bike it "should" make a bit of a difference
  15. Laugh???? i almost fecking died!!

Glad that you and the bike are fine, now best thing to do is go and hunt the corner down again and show it whos boss

Kick the tyres, sqaut down and look at bits like a typical bloke and let out a few "hmm's" sit on it and start it up and ride.

Well the XJ i goy is my mates old instrctors bike so i could use that but its quite leany overy so doubt my back will hold up on a 2-3hr road ride at 25mph haha. I do like the gs500 good and cheap but with the rust issues on the exhaust and frame its going to be hard work keeping it looking like a professional bike type of thing. ER5 could be worth a look into as well as a few hondas. My mate who i will be working for is loaning me either one of his ER6's or his black gs till i can get some money together to get my own instructor bike so ill be sorted for a few months, all i gotta buy now is a radio set and some of them bum bags.

Yer i was looking at the cb400 or the 500. Was even tempted by another stock draggy but cant get one for my price range. I have a ton of patients so no problems there.

Well here's a question to put on the table for you lovers to sort me out. In January im starting my new weekend job as a CBT instructor but sadly i cant (and won't) be using Betty as my instructor bike, so what bike would you folks recommend? Its gotta be less than £1000 and be really good at low speed but also look professional. Im just stumped
  22. Have you got your twatnav all set up just incase you take the detour?
  23. Have a good weekend guys and gals, looking forward to some piccies and some stupid goings on stories when you get back
  24. I had a 1988 austin Mini, and even tho it was a complete pain in the fucking ass and it spent more time in the car port being fixed than it did on the road it was a fun little car but there comes a time when those things have to go in the bin.
