Yeovil is well.......Yeovil lol, may step dad is ex RAF (spit) so he ended up working at Yeovilton as a civvy in the ejection seat shop till the Harriers got the finger then he was in the battery shop but then was made redundant i got a bit of stick when i joined the army from his mates but seeing that they are all ex fly boys their opinions where worth shit to me lol. Yes i do like a bit of the old lumpy cider but im more into Whisky so ive not drank much of the local stuff recently. Back to Wemoto, i really cant fault them ive just had another e-mail from them saying that the jets are on the way, (hopefully not the RAF lol) and i should have them by Wednesday the latest. I said to them i would post up a good review on here just to give a thanks for their help so far n hope that they will get new custome or even more custome from their previous customers
  4. O yes! remember by last bed in the field i had a sleeping bag and my burgen as a pillow, lol good times (untill you fart and gag your self as the remains of the corned beef for dinner makes a come back lol)

Hey guys i was just wondering if any of you have used Wemoto.com? if so what was your experiance like? e.g deliver times, after sales etc. I just bought a set of new main jets for the carbs but i feared i got too bigger size, so i e-mailed the chap at wemoto n he said for me to return them and he will send the next size i asked for with no questions asked! i ordered them on the monday and i had them by the wednesday so im well happy with there delivery times. Very friendly and very quick at replying to e-mails, and i cant fult there web site, so easy to use and they have a good selection of stuff for the bike too, could have more stuff for the XVS but atleast the sell gaskets and odds n sods at really good prices, the main jets where only £3 each! So come on......have you used them?
  7. That is pure 2 wheeled auto motive porn! i love them in black, and they also look good in red too. Fantastic buy mate, hope you have many a good mile on it,
  8. Haha, yer spose I shouldnt complain, brecon beacons where cold the last time u was up there, but still at least I maned up to drag the old girl out for a ride, but she off the road again now till I get my new main jets through. Shes still running a bit weak, as for putting hands on the exhaust.....yes thats a great way to warm up but I need ti get some more exhaust wrap as I now have burn holes in two sets of trousers now lol

    Black Betty

a bloke at work said the same thing about it raining with no front fender, he said "your gunna get wet when it rains" pointing out the obvious I replied lol. I will pop it on for mots but other than that its not actually that bad in the rain.
  10. Rode home from work and all was going great then went down through a little village n some dick was washing his cage and on the road was a (no joke) massive ice block! Like a mini glashier, lucky a rode around it, desaster avoided.
  11. Yer we got snow on the forecast tomorrow and Sunday then rain up till Wednesday so im happy ive got out on her today, atleast now i know nothing has or will fall off (checked the bolts 3 time when building her) and i also know what i have got left to do to make her run better too. And @ tgsm7, take it easy tomorrow if you take the bike out if it dose snow, cage drivers turn into bigger twats in the snow!
  12. Na i was the only biker out this moring, one other guy turned up at work on his fazer but no one else. My right hand was numb and my left middle finger was shagged but the rest of me was still warm (ish) full face halmet helped but i had a choice, either have the visor down and have the wind freeze my forehead or have the visor on one click and have a warm forehead but frozen eyes lol. O and the buttom on my trousers froze to my belly! ouch lol. Im sure after a day or two percy will return lol
  13. Just rode the bike into work this morning and MY GOD!!!!!! nasty, frosty, numb, snotty running snout, BRRRRR!!!! but apart from that and a few little niggaly probs with the bike it was a nice ride lol
  14. Try Devitt, they are a brokers so should be cheaper than a big name, but i would think you will be looking at near on over a grand due to your age. the restriction wont help as its a powerful bike and your age will go against you due to being in the "drives like a twat" catagory. (not saying you do but thats how thay will see it)

    Black Betty

Cheers man, good point, i will try and see about blacking it out. if not then they will just have to meet my shiney ex field knife lol
  16. Well id thought id post up some pics of the old girl, she's a wee bit different from when i picked her up from V&J Before After Will post more pics when i go out for a ride on her in some nice locations
  17. If you have the bike in gear and put the side stand down it will kill the engine, its so that you dont ride off with the stand still down, as its not gunna help you when you go round a left hand corner with the stand still down lol.

    crap joke

What do you do if you see a one armed arab? stop laughing and re-load
  19. Hi Rob welcome to the site! Dont be worried about starting this project mate, armed with a shed some tools and a manual you can do any thing! just take your time. I see that your into snowboarding.........do you get much snow in Sydney then? lol
  20. Hi Mate here are some pics for you to do a quick check on the diaphragms to see if they are working, Diaphragm fully out Diaphragm pushed in half way Diaphragm pushed in When you release the diaphragm you should/will hear it suck in air, that means its working.
  21. Axle stands. Jack up front of bike place axle stands under frame, let jack down, jack up rear of bike, place axle stands under frame, let jack down job done. Now introduce your self in the new members section.
  22. You wont need to take the carbs fully out mate just up till the point where you can get your finger into the tops, so in my case for example on the dragstar id need to take off fuel tank, then the air filter and thats it. should be the same with the virago i would think. my carbs are out at the mo as funny enough ive just had to change the diapham needles on mine so i will take some pics for you, and up loasd tomorrow if you like? The Karate is going well, only been going for 12 weeks going for my grading in mid feb, as for the type of karate i will have to let you know as i cant for the life of me remember how to spell it I only started due to leaving tha Army due to an injury to my back and my legs started to seize up and it got to a point where i could only walk for 15 mins in town before id had to sit down and let my legs recover. So now im more active im in less pain than i was but it never gose away, but the Karate helps alot with the stetching etc.
  23. Hi Matt and welcome! Well done for "finally" getting a bike you have def picked one hell of a project by the looks of things but nothing a shed some tools and e-bay cant solve As for your question, seeing that it appers to have met the road on its side at some point id get the engine out along with every thing else right down to the frame and get the frame checked out to see if it is bent or damaged in any way. Dose the bike start? if not then thats another on the to do list, (if it dont start id make it start now before you strip down any further) Next will be to sort out any missing parts and get them bought. I think that should keep you busy to start with
  24. Hey mate a good way of checking the diaphrams is to get your carbs, look in the top (inlet from where your air filter pipes connect to it) and you will see a black tube with a needle sticking out of it, push the black thing back wards and let go, you should hear the diaphrame sucking in airand it should be a bit slow on returning (but not too slow mind) to its starting possision. I just tried to see if i had and pics of the top of my carbs to show you the black tube thingy but i havent lol sorry Have you tried using some carb cleaner? may have a bit of gooo in there or some thing.
