  1. Hi, I have a 1990 XT600E. The ignition switch has a 4 pin block on it. I just bought a new switch which has a 6 pin block. 4 of the wires match but the new one has 2 extra wires, a black one and a black and white one..... what do these extra wires do? Can I just ignore them? cheers Lee
  2. Before I ask for any advice (which I am about to) I'd just like to say hi, as this is my first post. I have recently got back into Motor Cycling after a 20 year break, I'm 43 now. I bought a rather tired looking 1990 XT600E which I'm currently tidying up. It runs well and has no major problems it just needs all the worn out bits replacing like bearings and the like and a really good clean and paint. Typically, what started as a bit of a clean has turned into a major strip and rebuild, although I do like to take things to bits, so ts not a big deal as long as its on the road by Spring. Anyway onto my question... I am quite happy to take bikes and cars to bits, and generally they do work again after I've rebuilt them, but I can't get a Haynes manual for this bike so I'm a bit stuck on where to obtain Torque settings for all the important stuff. For example, the bolts throughout the swing arm set up I would imagine need to be tightened the right amount...and I don't want to overtighten them... Would any of you guys know where I could get a list of torque settings for this bike? Cheers Lee PS... The Forum looks very good... I shall enjoy exploring!
