I've picked up what I assume is a late 70's XS500 from my brother. The number listed on the engine is 1J3-200300. Based on the 1J3 this could either be a '76,'77, or a '78. Does anyone know the exact year? Thanks, Austin

Tried that and never received a reply. Thanks though. It turns out my bike is actually a '78 XS500E. The carbs that the bike came with were Mikuni BS3411. Does anyone know any alternative carbs I could use in place of the BS3411? Like the Mikuni VM round slide?? Thanks, Austin

I bought a project XS500 without carbs. Could anyone recommend a good replacement carburetor for a 76 or 77 XS500?
