  1. wot a belter.... you should give yourself a PAT on the back ( pun intended) for the finished article...superb
  2. joined here a ages ago doing canny fella...was good to meet ya at squires and cant wait for next years do.... :hyper:
  3. John its Wor Mick off the 2 stroke forum i thought the muddy looked abit erect lol
  4. looks spot on John.... that rear muddy looks abit wierd but nice nick that...
  5. would need to change the barrels and heads.... would also need the reeds airbox and inlet rubbers so a fair bit of money thats if you can find them... i sent you a PM mate
  6. you need the complete front end off an RD as the yokes are different to the RS... also unless you modify the clock bracket it wont fit on the RD yokes... the rear wheel is alot easier as it goes straight in without any issues... the Microns i found by chance on ebay and are in no way perfect but they sound awesome... they are off an RD200 also and had to be sleeved to fit the RS downpipes... just discovered what the cause is off the running problem on mine.... the carb is shot so need another one off either an RS or RXS... the hunt begins lol
  7. I have just about finished my RS200 but its far from standard.... it had the apehanger bars and the usual drum brakes which are marginal on a 100 nevermind a 200... mine had a knackered seat as well and also the chrome was just about shot... here are a couple of pics of how it looked before and how it looks now... The rear wheel has been moved back as ti was too far forward and the front end needs dropping abit but apart from paint its cosmetically just about ready... needs an engine problem sorting as it wont idle and bogs down at low revs but i did the work on this for not alot of money... the seat was the most expensive bit as i already had the RD200 front end and wheels, caliper etc
  8. i will give that a go thanks
  9. I know i need to upjet for running spannies and didnt intend leaving it as it is indefinately... I remember when i was a youngun my RS100 ran like crap with standard exhaust on but lovely with a spanny on it... when i said i was gonna roadtest it basically just around the block as it doesnt need to go any furhter than that to see if its running any better...
  10. The RS is a single carb version of the RD200 engine... twin coils rather than single coil.... the plugs are new.. i had one of the heads off to check the state of the piston crown for carbon etc and although it had some it was nothing excessive... I havent changed the caps yet to be honest... no smell of fuel in gearbox and no sign of oil or fuel behind the left side casing... the plugs are both the same colour ( dark toffee colour) the coils both seem ok as they spark is nice and blue, no rattles from the engine ( only done 2700 genuine miles)... doesnt smoke anymore than it should to be honest although it does do it more on left hand side compared to right.... with the silencers well in truth i dont think they have ever been cleaned out and i have just replaced the standard ones for a pair of Microns... i havent had a chance to road test it yet though so will see if its any better when i get out on it...
  11. its not the idle jet as the jet itself is new and the passageway it screws into you can see all the way through it when held up t the light..
  12. Lads i dunno if any of you can shed some light on a problem i have with my 200 twin 2 stroke.. the bike basically the bike bogs down really badly when trying to pull away but once on the move pulls very well and cleanly through the gears.. I have checked the plugs, compression, carb has been cleaned, checked for air leaks at inlet rubber... it also wont idle and although i cant swear to it sounds like its dropping to one cylinder as the revs get close to what should be adle speak.. I have no idea if its a mechanical fault, fuel/air fault or electrical... oh its an RS200 which i believe is the same engine as the RD200 just with a single carb instead twin carbs

    Stolen Bikes

Chris 'Hampo' Hampshire had his two bikes stolen from round the back of his appartment in Newcastle last night. It would be great if you could all keep your eyes out and also post this on any other forums you go on. I know the chances of getting them back are slim but there is always hope. The details I have are as follows; Yamaha RD350YPVS Reg number D50KJT, frame and engine number 1WT004499 Yamaha RD500LC Reg number A538MWD frame and engine number 57x The 500 was immaculate, the 350 had nearly 70,000 miles on the clock and was his much loved, well travelled old faithful.
  14. Guys really need some help with 2 problems... 1/ i replaced the petcock on my RXS and stupidly i forgot to put the filter back on.. while out today it broke down and wouldnt even start.. whats the best way to clean the carb out bearing in mind i dont have access to a compressor.. 2/ the battery has lost its charge and its brand new... when the bike is running the idiot lights dont get brighter when you rev it and they always used to... could it be a regulator or rectifier problem or maybe something else?
  15. i only junked it because i couldnt get the damn circlip out to replace the piston and seals etc... i have never used it on a bike so cant vouch for its functionality to be honest.. it came on a donor bike i got and was attched to the bars so it probs works but cant guarantee it.. the piston moves freely in it so its not siezed but it is tatty paint wise...i will let you know when i sort out whats what mate
  16. sounds like an electrical issue... somethiing to do with the power supply to the pump... intermittent faults are a bitch to find as they usually start working when u try and find em
  17. i do have one on a junked master cylinder... its discoloured and could probs do with a clean but its intact and no splits or cracks in it... use a digital vernier caliper and measure the the distance between opposite screw holes.. from centre to centre and it needs to be accurate as the difference between a 125 and 200 lid is very small indeed... i will check with the ones i have to see if they are same
  18. i bought a NOS one from the US for mine... the one which is on is not too bad just abit aged but no cracks... if i decide to just stick with the old one i will let you know... I better check that its right for your bike first as it was advertised as rd125/200 and is the flat type with 4 screws..
  19. have you tried bump starting it?... not sure if it will work if you have a duff electric fuel pump though
  20. interested in one but like OG i dont want my moniker on it either... will look like a right wally with that on... i reckon the big tuning forks on the back and a much smaller one in the usual place on chest with Yamaha Owners Club above the chest badge
  21. nice and too the point OG thanks
  22. Just a quickie lads do mirrors have to fitted for an MOT?... The ones on my RXS are pretty crappy and would rather take them off if its not part of the MOT
  23. try using an impact driver... that usually does the job but if you plan to replace the side panel anyway yank the old one off to give you easier access to the offending screw
  24. Give Dave at Yambits a ring or try Granbys.. i know alot of lads into classic strokers use granbys and yambits for their parts
  25. Will any of these fit yours mate http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=DT175+ignition&_sacat=See-All-Categories
