What should mine be then m8y. Was going to purchase a replacement carb of ebay for a dt175mx but as you have pointed out it may be wrong model 2H500 - Made by RT. Mines a round tube rear swing arm. At work at the moment so cant look but i dont recall seeing the number very clearly as it was vapour blasted. Will look later. Do you know the correct model for my bike?

Just finnished restoring my DT and cant get it running right. Took it into the shop and had it back twice and its still poo. He said it was too rich as when he took the air filter panel and filter off it run much better. Then lowered the jet to 90. It wont rev out or idle for long. 40mph tops. Think i will have to sell as is if i cant get it sorted asap as going through divorce and may need the cash. Cost me £100 in the shop and it aint got me anywhere.

Can anyone confirm the correct amount of fork oil for my dt175mx 1978. It says 148 in the manual is this correct as my forks apear very soft. Ive used the correct oil. may be because im used to the xjr,lol

I give up , will take it to a bike shop and let them set it up. Poxy thing. Just cant get it to run correctly.

Ok think i have now sorted electrics. bad earths due to paint on handlbars and frame. Started it today and it apeared to tickover fairly fast. I have put a new carb needle in and jet and changed the needle clip as it was on the first point, manual says 3rd, is this right and could this be the reason its ticking over fast? adjust the tickover screw done nothing.

Cheers for that, Front brake sensor was playing up so purchased one today and fitted and rear light works correctly. Will try indicators tonight. will put a pic up later. Have a manual now so hopefully it will help me but hey im poo with wires, lol It wont be mint restoration as have not re-chromed the wheels and forks but i can do these at a later date should i want to. Engine on first rebore fitted with new piston and rings as old ones were stuck in and back to the standard exaust. im happy with the result so far £800 for the bike, lashed out £400 completing work so dont think i will loose much money in the end. Not that this matters as i love tinkering.

Ok lads, here are a few of the lost wires, The two black wires form the handlbar controls plug into the dual black connector? Two black wires with small round clips about 18in in lenth in light that a bolt will go through go to where, think its earth but is there a specific place? Only 3 wires for the rear light but have tried mixing about but light is on all the time?. Thats for starters. Helpppppppppp

lol, havent got the patience at present, going through seperation and need to get it sorted. Im crap with electrics anyrate.

Pulling my hair out here lads, should of labled the wires on strip down. Cant get things to work? lights etc. If there is anyone who knows electric wiring near weston super mare drop me a message. I will pay for the help.

Hi all, i am putting the carb back to gether after having it cleaned and cannot find the float level needle or now remember if i took one out. I have looked in the parts book and it does not apear to have one. is this correct? Dt175mx 1978. Hopefully the manual will arive today and give me some help.

Fairplay tommy thats sounded sweet. I will offer him less but dont think he will drop in price. Will give it a go though. Im waiting for better pics and to know about engine.

Ive always wanted the DT360, had a 400 but just didnt like it. The 360 is supposed to be the better bike. Not sure what to do at the moment.
