Good road tyres for the DT
yep mozzy i agree with you mate. if you can get them put the most road like tyres on it, they will look fine and perform alot better than the trail style items

the perfect bike?
cool pic 8) my dads was orange. the race one was bought by accident, he thought it was a standard one, he'd got it from a bike shop over the phone and they sent it by train, him and his mate got to the station and they wheeled out a race h1. after much stalling he took off up the road going like fook, got rid of it two weeks later to get a standard one

the perfect bike?
i have rode quite a few old bikes, more than moderns actually, and they've all handled OK to me i've rode one kawa triple but it was just a kh250, i liked it alot. back in the day my dad had a standard h1 and then a race prepd one, he doesnt know why people always go on about the scary handling. btw he agrees with you about the kettle, he got a big scare on his mates at 100, apparently it was fine, then just went all over the place without warning

yep all bikes mate. that's weird, for some reason i thought you'd say the z1/or z900  . i was lucky enough to have a seat on one not so long ago, fookin 'ell they're massive  was the handling on them as scary as they say pete? i've always liked the kwak z's. the z1 and z650 are two of the prettiest bikes on this earth

front wheel judder
yeah mozzy i was thinking the same thing mate, i'll try the steering bearings, if that fails i'll see if the wheel's balanced properly
-
front wheel judder
yeah it's the xj scott. the rd got a set of tapered bearings in it, what an improvement, silky smooth 8) not sure what the xj has in it, hopefully just need adjusting.

front wheel judder
when i take my hands off the bars the wheel judders a bit, i'm thinking steering head bearings, could it be this? tyres are fine so cant be that :?

DT...cornering??...takes the mick
all year round biking teaches you so much about riding. i HAVE to ride one of my bikes every day, through snow rain etc... and every summer i get better and better on a bike, just the other day my old man complemented me on my riding, he hasn't done that in ages  he says i'm getting very smooth and fast and dont take stupid risks, i was so proud of myself, sounds daft i know but it meant alot to me:D it's amazing how much experience and how smooth you are counts in road riding. to cap it all off.....all year round biker=proper biker  oh yeah and older bikes need sooo much more rider input than moderns, my 78 rd goes shapeless when giving it some just the way i like it  8) modern bikes are too easy unless you're doing silly speeds!!

Petrol prices

cool bare bones yam
rd's rule scott 8) i'd love to try my rd motor in a flat tracker. with such a light weight it would fly! oh yeah, buells and the 52" wheelbase, that's pretty short for a big bike aint it? :? they should lift the front wheel easy then :!:

oil light
does it go off when in gear mate? i'm sure some of them were meant to have the light on in neutral(so you knew if it worked) and went out once in gear. if i'm talking bollox it could just be the switch
-
