R1 2004 speedmeter is showing MPH
I had read it was a combination of pressing the buttons for trip counter etc. A quick call to the dealers and they should be able to tell you over the phone. If I find it in the manual for the R6 in the mean time you can give that a try.

R1 wont start
I assume you would have done but have you checked the voltage of the battery?

counter steer
You will find that you actually do it naturally without even realising it. However I was looking at it towards the back end of last year and here are a couple of articles I found http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/school-SectionFiveB.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countersteering And also a couple of brief videos here http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...countersteering

Southern Spain 19/04 - 03/05
Well I have no plans as yet other than what is in the title but earlier today I decided that I would take a 2 week holiday. It was alread booked for other reasons that have now been cancelled. Rather than swapping holidays I thought what better way to spend the time than clocking up some serious miles. So on Friday the 19th of may I shall head south to the channel tunnel and then I guess I will be making a right turn. Other than that I will be planning it from here on in. Any advice of routes, places to stay and visit will be much appreciated. Previous experiences? Really any information from rider out there. As to a final destination I am not sure yet either I guess sticking as coastal as possible after entering spain it will be Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante then Murcia, Granada, Malaga, Marbella, Gibraltar. What I would like is a few realaxing beach days and then some time in the moutains of Andalusia. Thanks.

Sweet choice of bike. Guess what I got for my first bike after passing the test? What year do you have Cant really offer much advice but ride safe. Look after the bike it will look after you. But push it and as I am sure you are already aware it has the ability to bite you hard. Ride safe and stick around.

SPEED LIMITERS ON BIKES - DISCUSS
Insurance is self restricting in that sense much more than it is for bikes. So unless you are from a rich background you can not afford to run a performance car. Unless you are talking about restriction to a sub 1.6 vehicle?

you ever seen an exhaust glow red "look at this"
Unless it was a major MOT failure and they just wated to kill it.

SPEED LIMITERS ON BIKES - DISCUSS
Have MAG made their comments known on this subject yet?

YZF R6
Still taking it easyish on mine. I passed my test 3 weeks ago on Tuesday and picked my 04 R6 up straight after passing. Just done over 1000 miles now and it hasn't bitten me yet. The rev range is so long on it you can really control the power delivery so you would have to be stupid to make the bike do something stupid.

Bike Safe Cheltenham 310307
Well it seemed a good excuse for a nice ride out. Overall it was quite a good day. I was there with a 125 club stand. Thought I would show some loyalty as we have all been there and especially with me only recently passing. A few stall but it was good to browse round many of the manufacturers stands Well I didnt really take too many pics but here are the ones that I did get. First few pics are at the last stop on the way home. Just look at the size of the rear tyre on this thing A busa with lots of bling. More money than sense. Not to my taste but it caught the eye One police bike you wouldnt mess with, although you should be able to lose it on the bends ;D

What Petrol??
All my mileage has been based on is big runs. The daily commute if you can call it that is 1.5 miles each way whatever it is it can never be as bad as my previous V8 Merc. The average with that beast was around 18-22.
