bit of ebay luck
excellent, I have a set of fz600 carbs kicking around which might be useful to you, they are in bits as I needed a set of diaphrams but in need of a good home now.

What would be easier (if any)
after doing the 750/1000 conversion reciently I feel it was well worth the effort, the adaptor plates are fairly straight forward, I was a bit concerned about that bit my self as its not something that there are a lot of pics of and even fewer drawings of them. I did my conversion as I wanted a bike which was able to do very long distances with ease but one that was also able to cut it in the twisties. although I've still got a 750 lump sitting on the workshop floor just in case I change my mind and want blades beating me again.

Going out?
with this fine weather I could not resist taking the bike out for a ride last night, unfortunatel as I'd taken the grab rail off I had to ride steady as the girlfriend was on the back, so now the grabrail is back on for the next trip as trying to keep up with a friend on his blade ( sorry for swearing) was a little tricky. now the grab rail is back on roll on next time  .

my yzf
nice looking bike I realy fancied a later version but the 93 I picked up was at the right price so I was happy enough to spend a few quid sorting it out, although a £300 rebuild on the forks was not planned but the results are well worth it.

HELP
the top end is reasonably easy to work on, at least no harder than any other 4cyl 8v head, a specific tool is needed to allow you to remove the shims with out stripping the cams out which was around £20 last time I looked. If you remove the cam cover on these engines I would recommend using silicone to reseal the rubber gasket ( Yamaha recommend using one of the yammabond products ) or else it'll leak oil for a past time. the engine is the same as an fz600 so if your looking for something other than motad I believe micron do a full system which should fit.

my yzf
thank you It looks better now (in my opinion) as the rims are now polished and the standard disks have been replaced with some ducati ones. the exhaust was a bargain off ebay the pic that was used made it look like it had a huge scratch down the side so very few people bid on it.
